Guest guest
I must admit I did not read the long post word for word. Nevertheless, I can offer some comments that you most likely will observe to be on the mark. An education. How thorough? How effective? Covering what concepts? Based upon what paradigm? There are no quick, simple answers. As a chiropractor under Texas law, I had to take more classroom hours than an MD. The hours the MD's spent on surgery and drugs, we spent on anatomy, physiology, and pathology in more depth about the nervous, muscular, and skeletal systems. The MD's lobby has tried to eliminate us with more and more educational requirements, but instead has just made us better doctors. We observe many pathological conditions now that they have missed. So much for chiropractic college. At least half of my education has come from outside sources, such as newsletters and books. So much for time spent in the act of education. The rest of what I know is borne of experience - familiarity of seeing things and knowing what works. There is a danger of which everyone needs be aware: don't learn something and think that that is the great answer. The minute you get a knowledge idol, the God of truth reckons a time for your fall from arrogance. It is called practice (medical, legal, etc.), because you never reach the end of your education and wealth of experience. That said, this is all the time I can devote to this debate. Your input was very thoughtful, but I am afraid we have overdone the debate and the posts are going beyond thoughtful. Thanks Tony
