Dear Folks:

Are the oleander flowers useful for making the soup?

Usually the flowers of any herb etc. are even more

concentrated than the leaves would be. (Or the roots

on some plants.)

I have thousands of beautiful red oleander flowers all

along my wall and I would like to use them in place of

the leaves to make my soup.

What do you think?

Thank you, Nancy E.V.

As far as I know, the flowers are fine to use. If you used ONLY

flowers, you might want to start to with lower amounts at first.

Anybody in here that has used flowers, feel free to join in - I

haven't yet.

One thing I would avoid would be the seed pods - simply because seeds

often have lower concentrations of some of the active compounds. At

least that was the case back in college . . . .
