I know that Hep C is not the same as other liver problems. But, my obgyn, who

did a

hysterectoomy on me last year, said that I had a fatty liver (precusor to other

liver problems).I

started taking Milk Thistle, alpha lipoic acid, and a vitamin with selenium.

Organic foods,litle/

no dairy, little meat (only organic, no antiboitics, free range), no sugar, lots

of fresh fruits

and veggies. This year my internist did a MRI and a abdominal ultrasound and

said that there

is no evidence of fatty liver. Question for the Drs in the group: Are those

tests definitive? Can

a fatty liver be recovered from that fast? How long do I stay on this regimen?

(Forever is an

okay answer, too, but mainly referring to the vitamins. Any other things I

should consider

adding to this regimen would be helpful. Did have really bad acid reflux, but

the fruits,

veggies, acid reducing and ph balancing foods have greatly reduced that to

almost none

existant. I have worked really hard, using massage, exercise, and EFT to

eliminate/reduce

anger and stress. This after cancer has not been fun, but has made me look at

other things I

need to do for me. Any suggestions and helpful comments would be greatly

appreciated.

Janna -What you did and are doing is outstanding! Those three anti-oxidants plus oleander soup and healthy changes in diet and lifestyle, along with removal of stress, are ideal for the liver.I would add one more suggestion: regular detox/cleansing.Liver and colon cleanses rid the body of harmful wastes and toxins and make it much more receptive to the good foods and supplements that you use to beat and ward off illness. Perhaps more importantly, all toxins released into the blood stream ultimately go through the liver - and when a person is figthing a serious disease, especially cancer, beating the disease and killing off the bad cells releases even more toxins and really places a big burden on the liver. In many instances, a cancer patient dies not from the cancer, but from liver failure - and that failure can be caused by killing off too many cancer cells too soon. This is not merely a personal belief of mine,

but one that many in alternative health and mainstream medicine will tell you. That is why famous cancer fighter Max Gerson and others incorporate liver cleansing as part of their protocols - so the patient does not succumb to the cure!As a matter of fact, I am in the process of writing an article about the importance of properly caring for and cleansing the liver when fighting off cancer - and I will post it here when I have completed it.Now, as to a couple of your questions: Yes, the liver can recover very rapidly, although sometimes it takes a long time depending upon the amount of damage and the treatment. Unique among the body's organs, the liver can regenerate itself. It HAS to be able to do this, given it's role of being a toxic waste dump and processor for the body.No doubt one of the major reasons that chemo and radiation kill more patients than they cure is liver failure. The treatments themselves weaken the

entire body, immune system and major organs but in the case of the liver, they hit it with a double dose, first weakening and impairing it's ability to function properly and repair itself and secondly releasing the toxins in the cancer cells they kill.Personally I would say the forever would be a very good time frame for you to continue your regimen witht he anti-oxidants. I do!The same is true for the other good things you list. Which I also do, but not as much as I should!Live long, live healthy, live happy!Tonydreamweavermphs <cr8iveart wrote: I know that Hep C is not the same as other liver problems.
