Yet another outrage - and one against one of the healthiest foods on the planets: raw almonds! From Roger Haeske's Blogspot (http://roger-haeske.blogspot.com/)

No More Raw Almonds

California Almond Board To Cook All AlmondsThe

California Almond Board has decided to pasteurize all almonds. Needless

to say I'm not for this policy as this process will in effect cook the

almonds and therefore make them less than ideal. This new policy will

eliminate almonds from the diet of raw foodists. At least California

grown almonds which are the world's largets supply of almonds. Here's an email sent from Living Tree Community FoodsAlmond pasteurization protestDear Friend,TheCalifornia Almond Board has passed a mandatory almond pasteurization order onFriday, March 30th. It mandates that all almonds be pasteurized. This is a grossinsult to the live food movement and to organic farming.Theenlightened and progressive California Certified Organic Farmers has the powerto contest this. Please write to Peggy Miars, Executive Director peggy.Ask her to mobilize and protest. Speak from your heart and send us acopy.Jesse SchwartzPresidentLiving Tree CommunityFoodsjesseHere's something else you can do. If you want to still eat raw almonds then you should fill out this petition below.http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/mandatory-almond-pasteurization-is-wrong.htmlFor all the details of this plan that was already passed with little consumer notification, please read this page.http://www.almondboard.com/Programs/content.cfm?ItemNumber=890 & snItemNumber=450Take a minute to make your opinion known and the California Almond Board just might change their minds. To Your Radiant Health, Happiness and Fitness, Roger Haeske
