Guest guest
Amazing how we find different viewpoints, all supported by scientific research and studies. This one is interesting. Look at: http://www.biblelife.org/myths.htm
Guest guest
Yes, depending on the source you can use " science " to make an argument for anything from a diet overloaded with fats and woefully deficient in the good carbohydrates to one that is entirely a raw vegan diet. The site does make some good points, much along the lines of those in the highly acclaimed " Maker's Diet " . I think that the information on the site, regardless of the science they quote, is flawed along the same lines of the Atkins Diet, which over-hyped eating all the fat you wanted and eliminating all the carbs you could, both of which can lead to serious health conditions. From what I have observed, the most effective diet for people fighting cancer is the Budwig Diet, although I consider it more of a treatment or protocol than an actual diet. Outside Budwig, the next most beneficient diet for people who are building a healthy immune system and fighting cancer and other illnesses appears to be one which closely models what our ancestors evolved to eat (if you don't like " evolution " , substitute " had grown accustomed to eating " about 20,000 years ago: meat, raw fruits and vegetables, nuts, roots and tubors - none of which were contaminated by chemical pollutants, pesticides, hormones and other additives. Another very effective diet for fighting cancer and disease appears to be a raw vegan diet; however, vegan diets tend to leave the body deficient in vital nutrients found only in meat, such as vitamin B-12. I think that perhaps a very big factor in the success of following a vegan diet to combat health problems is the de-toxing effect of such a diet. Anyone who considers a vegan diet, especially long term, would be well advised to supplement carefully in order to not have unhealthy deficiencies. I understand that many people have strong feelings about being vegetarian, and I respect their beliefs while at the same time disagreeing. Maybe many millenia from now things will be different for our shaky species, but as matters stand at present we are decidely adapted for life as omnivores. One thing is for sure: the FDA food chart is horribly, horribly flawed.
