This week the Senate will again consider the same legislation that banks and

credit card company campaign contributors have been pushing for 6 years. Some

contend the increasing numbers of bankruptcy filings are the fault of " deadbeat "

consumers. Critics say skyrocketing medical bills and predatory lending

practices are forcing hard-working families into endless debt.

A number of amendments have been proposed, to exempt those suffering from

medical hardship or extended military deployment from the restrictive means

tests in the revived bill, to include provisions to hold corporate insiders

accountable who steal from retirement pensions, and to raise the minimum wage so

that all can have a living wage. Where do you stand on these questions?

Here is an easy one-click form you can use make your voice heard. It

automatically looks up your senators (Bond and Talent) and house representative

and sends them your personal message all at the same time:

Do you want our representatives in Washington to stand up for you more often?

We must back them up with our vocal support if we expect them to fight for us on

this or any issue. The People's Email Network encourages you to speak out and

keep speaking out, regardless of your political position, until our

representatives truly hear you.

And now you can have your own custom Issue Action Center featuring any issue of

interest to you for you for no charge. It's an amazingly small block of HTML

code you can drop into any web page anywhere for an instant dynamic action menu

effect. And we will set up a corresponding issue action page on The People's

Email Network for you too. Pursue your own policy initiative! See the code in

action at

I went and gave my opinion... where we were allowed to make a statement I wrote...,

all persons holding public office should be forced to live on minumum wage and ONLY minimum wage for their entire term of office. maybe then they would realize how impossible it is to do so.

you're welcome! it is especially appropriate in Idaho, since our wages here are among the lowest in the nation. I know minimum wage is supposed to be federally mandated, but very few states actually abide by it. unfortunately the cheapskates here wont pay any more than they are forced to pay. It's a right to work state... sigh..

Im not thrilled with unions either. I dont like having to pay out half my salary just to force them to give it to me.. all that does is legalize the graft of the unions.

If the damn government would just raise the minimum wage to something a person could live on then maybe we wouldnt need them. call me a communist if you want to, but this bs about the ceos making 50 times what the workers make is ridiculous. there needs to be some kind of cap on the percentage of the profits and channel it down to the little guy.

It makes me sick to even watch a show that flaunts how much money some people have when I know that millions of people in our own country cant afford health insurance ( thats another pet peeve... its a discrace that the supposedly wealthiest and most powerful nation in the world wont provide health care for its people... they need to stop pumping money into Iraq and take care of their own... sigh)
