Eliminate Your Cell Phone Radiation With Tiny Iron Beads

Clipping a tiny ferrite bead onto hands-free mobile phone kits can reduce a cell phone user's exposure to radiation to virtually zero. While using a hands-free device has been found to reduce radiation from cell phones, emissions can still travel up the headset wire and into the head.

The magnetic beads, which cost only a few pennies and measure less than 1cm in diameter, absorb these emissions and stop the radiation from being absorbed by the head. The hands-free kits have two currents, one that intentionally travels inside the wire and one that unintentionally travels outside the wire. It is the "unintentional" current that is blocked by the ferrite bead.

Researchers said they'd like to see the mobile phone industry include the ferrite beads, which are already widely used to stop data interference in computers, in their hands-free devices "as standard," and mentioned that they could be used as a promotional tool in which manufacturers could promote a potentially safer product.

Evidence suggests the beads are most effective when placed around chest level, just below the microphone on a typical hands-free device.

I've talked about the safe use of cellular phones for awhile on this Web site for good reason: Exposing your body to harmful radiation, not to mention growing acoustic neuromas (benign tumors on the auditory nerve) near the ear that is used most often.

That radiation exposure can be reduced to almost nothing with an inexpensive ferrite bead clipped to a wire connecting an earpiece to your mobile phone is great news. This is just the type of solution I like best: One that's inexpensive, simple and has nothing but positive side effects, in this case less radiation exposure. Please understand though that you must be wearing a headset for these beads to work. Even without the beads the headset will dramatically reduce your exposure to potentially dangerous EMFs from the cell phone. I hope that the cell phone industry takes note of this study and begins including them in all of their hands-free devices. However, I still believe that the most prudent advice is to for you to limit your cell phone use as much as possible. Yet, I understand that many people do use their cell phones much more than that. If that's the case, always use a hands-free device and keep the cell phone itself as far away from your body as possible -- and keep on the lookout for headsets with ferrite beads that will hopefully be coming in the future.

However, cell phones can potentially have a far more acute and deadly impact on you. They dramatically increase your risk of having an accident by up to 400 percent -- if you are young and healthy this may be your highest risk of death.

So please take this warning to heart -- seek to avoid using your cell phone while driving.
