Guest guest
As one who has had experience with breast cancer, a mammogram saved my life. It caught a .9cc cancer. I have talked to docs about various test but they all seem to think Mammograms work the best. June - luckypig @ A2C Thursday, February 03, 2005 5:01 PM Should you get mammograms? Guest guest
" luckypig " <luckypig Should you get mammograms? ---------------------- Rick, Thanks for those 3 links about the dangers of mammograms and radiation. I used to get mammograms – just occasionally, though, not the yearly that “they” recommend. Last time I went, I actually ended up with torn ligaments under my left arm. That machine is so barbaric – even the squishing alone may cause a tumor, if cancerous, to pop and spread. I said right then – NEVER AGAIN!! And I never will have another one. Guest guest
I appreciate all the articles too. I am 44 and have never had one and never relished the idea of getting one, but for me the old self exams will be good enough. There is a lady at the gym i go to that had breast cancer and she is a nurse so she had all the traditional treatments and surgeries. She is only 39, and a vegan. I asked her how it was found and if it was a mammogram and she said "NO--I found myself--you have to do the self exams".Carol Minnick <carolminnick wrote: "luckypig" <luckypig Should you get mammograms? ---------------------- Rick, Thanks for those 3 links about the dangers of mammograms and radiation.
