Guest guest
Hi Ann - My daughter and I both have chronic candida overgrowth, and we have many of the same symptoms you describe. I have studied it extensively and am presently on an intense corrective program. Depending on your particular situation and how strictly you adhere to a remedial program, it can take anywhere from a month to a year to correct the situation, but it WILL be corrected. Here are the basic concepts/products we are using, and references that have been helpful in designing our program. Supplements: - Syclovir - 1 tablespoon in water 2 times a day. This stuff attracts and absorbs yeast/fungus and carries it out of the body. Testimonials and reports of effectiveness are impressive. www.greenwillowtree.com They have a couple of other candida products as well. - Fungal Defense - 6 capsules 2 times a day. This is one of Jordan Rubin's products (he is author of the recently released book The Maker's Diet in which, among other things, he describes his problems with candida.) www.gardenoflifeusa.com Once we have each gone through 2 bottles of Fungal Defense, we will switch to pre-biotic Inulin to support the friendly bowel bacteria, and starve the unfriendly yeast population http://members.shaw.ca/duncancrow/inulin_prebiotic_probiotic.html - Garlic - 2 capsules 2 times a day. Anti-viral, anti-candida. Diet: We have eliminated from our diet all foods that are also feeding the yeast. Yeast feeds on sugar, so we stopped eating ALL high glycemic foods. That includes alcoholic beverages, vinegar, rice, bread, potatoes, pasta, corn, carrots, beats, apples, bananas, grapes, dairy, peanuts, cashews. This sounds like there isn't much you can eat, but it's not as bad as you think. We eat mostly clean protein and vegetables, and we have started making cultured veggies, which is basically a healthy diet anyway. It should be possible to add back some of these foods when the candida problem is solved. We are drinking a lot of water, and drinking Pau D'arco tea, which is anti-candida. Resources: The best book I have found on all of this is The Body Ecology Diet by Donna Gates. The book isn't well organized, but it is all about fighting yeast, and has comprehensive information, meal suggestions, etc. www.bodyecologydiet.com Did you see JoAnn's article on candida a few weeks ago? That will give you additional ideas about herbs and foods that will help. Good luck! Let us know how it goes. Oh, I don't have any connection with any of the sites mentioned above, except that I have bought products from them. Deb
Guest guest
Is candida mainly a digestive problem (not enough friendly bacteria) or is it in the blood too (need to do BE) or should I just eat friendly bacteria morn , noon and night (yogurt, raw cabbage etc.) for a few weeks !!! Also if I use anything to kill candida (Coconut Oil?) wont I be killing the good bacteria thus going back to where I started ... Is there a quick kill for this kind of stuff ??? Guest guest
I have been using neem (Neemwell.com) capsules and agrisept with great success. The neem will bring out any candida that is dormant (hiding in the cells) and kill it and the agricept is also very potent for killing it. Don't use neem from the local health food store as they contain mercury. The neem from neemwell.com is much more potent without the risk of mercury. Guest guest
Candida likes sugars and you need to cut out all sweets and sugars. Basically the macrobiotic diet works wonders for candida. Hi Dan, Sorry I just noticed your post. Candida is a problem in all mucus membranes, and it can be systemic (throughout the body), where candida has overgrown due to friendly bacteria being wiped out. Most of the overgrowth is in the gut, but you can have it in your mouth, ears, eyes, stomach, etc., wherever you have mucus membranes. It puts toxins into the body that causes numerous symptoms and health problems. > Also if I use anything to kill candida (Coconut Oil?) wont I be > killing the good bacteria thus going back to where I started ... > Is there a quick kill for this kind of stuff ??? There are no quick fixes - quick fixes are left to the drug industry and doctors - a diet high in animals meats and " good " fats such as butter and coconut oil, and low in carbs is the only way to get candida under control, along with antifungals and probiotics. It is a step by step program that will get you through the worst die-off symptoms (die-off is caused by high numbers of candida being killed off that increases symptoms temporarily due to high numbers toxins being released). You must cut out all sugar, grains, high carb veggies, bad oils, etc. For more information see my article " How to Successfully Overcome Candida " in the files on my Candida Support Group: candidasupport The best in health, Bee P.S. I am not selling anything except help for Candida.
