Guest guest
" bta1012003 " <bta101 Dear members: Can anyone recommend what one can do to slow down the onset of osteoporosis? What has work for you? Thanks in advance, bta ========================================== bta, About six or so years ago I was diagnosed with osteopenia, which is almost osteoporosis. At the time I was drinking lots of milk (3 big glasses a day), eating ice cream, cheese, actually all dairy, and taking my calcium pills. Just because that’s what you hear that you’re supposed to do to prevent bone problems. How wrong I was! And how wrong that advice is! My doctor at the time told me that I should eat more dairy and take more calcium pills. I decided not to follow doctor orders and went completely opposite of what he told me. I eliminated dairy (maybe I eat dairy a couple times a month now), I eliminated my calcium pills (which are nothing more than isolated, synthetically made junk), I eliminated 99% of my meat consumption (I eat meat only a couple times a month). Meats are very acid forming in your body, and the way your body tries to get rid of all that acid is with calcium – and guess where your body finds a store of calcium to use - your bones and teeth. I also added a lot of calcium rich veggies to my diet, I added whole food supplements that are naturally balanced like food is, and I also added a red yeast rice capsule which is specifically for bone health. My last bone scan showed that my bones have dramatically gotten better – my 58 year old body has 25 year old bones, according to the scan.
