Interview with Dr. John Abramson Eerily Fortuitous

My interview with Dr. John Abramson M.D. author of “Overdosed America”, was one of my best and most informative shows. I thoroughly enjoyed our interchange. Little did I know we were “writing news in real time”, only to find our topic discussion plastered as headlines on most leading news agencies. Part of Thursday’s discussion was on VIOXX and CELEBREX. I’m sure neither one of us could have imagined what would occur the following day.

We spent a good 20 minutes discussing the interplay of pharmaceutical companies and their “trained” reps who can seduce the most cautious of physicians and mental health practitioners. You will hear me tell of some of my personal experiences as a practitioner who fell prey to high end “wine and dining” of which pharmaceutical representatives have an endless expense account.

 

You will also hear just how polluted the FDA system really is. If you thought you were being protected by the Federal Food and Drug Administration, think again. You will witness as our interview unfolds, an uncanny resemblance to our political voting system. In short, they are both as crooked and deceiving as the preverbal used car salesman. The installation of truth and integrity once so important to our nation and community has all but disappeared.

 

It just wasn’t all about pharmaceuticals... Dr. Abramson was able to (and as a bit of a surprise to me) willing to discuss in part the cause of an “Overdosed America”. I told Dr. Abramson of my beliefs in what our ancestors have told us of this period of time. I namely mentioned the Mayans. I laid out what our Mayan Elders have told us as related to the Mayan Calendar. “We are in a time of conflict. We are at the cusp of a new world. Many will be challenged. A choice will have to be made. Do you wish to continue on your journey of “sameness”, much of which may be filled with character defects, shortcomings, false self, denial of actions which keeps us separate from community, family and spirit. Or, you can choose the path of “newness”, which ultimately will be filled with connectiveness, personal fulfillment, integrity, and compassion. However, it is this journey which may be extremely challenging for many of us. Even those who ! are

already aware and actively seeking this “transition”. Why? Because it is different. No one knows what it looks or feels like, but the deeper drive to follow ones’ truth is overbearing, so we journey on!

 

It was with the above sentiments and understanding of which I presented to Dr. Abramson. I followed with my suggestion that it may in part be this very “transition” of which puts many of us, regardless of culture and geographical setting, in a state of anxiety, depression, overindulgence, aggression, and confusion. So what do we do? Well most people of the so-called civilized world, call our family physician telling of our woes and we wish to stop the pain. This is where Dr. Abramson jumps right in. He reminds us that our doctors of today, including him until more recently, would rely on highly esteemed journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine to gather their information of latest research, trends and medicines. Unfortunately, but perhaps to a lesser degree, they would rely on their pharmaceutical reps to guide them in their diagnosis and prescription remedy. This is where it gets rather sickening.

 

Dr. Abramson goes into great detail of what his research and unfortunate findings have revealed. In our interview you will hear our discussion of a devious, subtle, and some would now say “deadly”, shift has now occurred in our once highly esteemed field of medicine. No longer are universities and schools of medicine conducting research and development of new medicines and ongoing outcome studies of current medications. It is now run by and overseen by the pharmaceutical companies themselves. And guess what is driven into all researchers and scientists who are employed by your favorite drug company? That’s right…”the bottom line”. M-O-N-E-Y.

Mount St. Helens Continues Slow Eruption

 

Scientists say that four earthquakes of magnitude 3 overnight at Mount St. Helens are part of the continuing lava dome eruption at the volcano. A break in the weather Thursday gave them a good look at the mountain. They saw that the growing lava dome is broader, with steaming hot cracks that are spreading dark ash on the white snow in the crater. The U.S. Geological Survey and University of Washington are monitoring the volcano. They say this type of eruption with lava pushing into the crater could continue for months.
