Feeding the good bowel bacteria with a prebiotic soluble fiber called inulin will allow them to outcompete bad bacteria that might be causing the constipation, and at more than the optimal 12-15 grams daily from all sources, the good bacteria can't use it all and it's therefore more of a soluble fiber. Bad bowel bacteria can't use it well, and if you use sugar-and FOS-free inulin, bad bacteria hardly use it at all. Inulin gives one excellent control over bowel ecology, and this in turn will improve mineral ionisation and absorption, short chain fatty acid, b-vitamin and anti-cancer enzyme production, and also reduces toxin load, as bad bowel bacteria produce toxin load 24/7. How many diseases are aggravated or caused by toxin load? Many. My site is an excellent resource for science behind prebiotics; Bryan Tungland's Comprehensive Scientific Review is not available anywhere else: http://members.shaw.ca/duncancrow/inulin_prebiotic_probiotic. html To directly address your question now, the cystitis flares might be effectively reduced with a reduction in toxin load. This should include a series of liver flushes to unimpede the liver, and antioxidants, particularly glutathione precursors for liver support while it's breaking toxins. Here's a good and easy liver flush with links to the curezone site on the subject: http://zeek.ca/4u//article.php?sid=38 Here's the glutathione science: http://members.shaw.ca/duncancrow_medline_links.html The outcome would be the ability to eat the " problem foods " again. Also, a nuterient-dense organic juice that is cold-extracted from nine sea vegetables and aloe vera may help heal the colon. Aloe is legendary for a that, and where else are you going to get decent concentrations of nutrients including more than 70 bioavailable minerals?
