Guest guest
" Cyndie " <Gypsisoul2004 I was wondering if anyone knows of any good coffee alternatives. Besides, tea and green tea, as teas can stain teeth. Any suggestions or point me in the direction and I would be truly greatful. Thank you. ======================================================== Cyndie, Have you ever tried the Celestial Seasonings “Roastaroma”? The ingredients are roasted barley, chicory root, carob, cinnamon, allspice, and star anise. I don’t think that would stain teeth, and it’s quite coffee-like. Guest guest
" June1 " <june1 Gano coffee June ============================================== June, But isn’t Gano coffee still coffee? It still has caffeine in it, just has added mushroom, right? That would be along the same lines as that Kombucha tea, which is black tea and mushroom, instead of coffee and mushroom. Guest guest
Kombucha is actually not mushroom. It is a colony of fungus and bacteria if I remember correctly. All very much good for you. I don't know whether or not the "caffeine" is metamorphosed into something else or not in the Kombucha liquid that one would drink. It may well contain no caffeine. Guest guest
NO, I don't believe there is any coffee in the Gano and if it had caffeine I would not be sleeping at night. Guest guest
thanks everyone for your suggestions! I forgot to mention that I drink coffee ALL day. Even a pot at 8:00 at night and I can still go to sleep at 9:30. But I am otherwize a healthy eater, so I want to cut out the caffeine. I just like a nice hot cup of something every few hours. I was telling Deb that I was thinking of just hot water with lemon and honey. I will try all the suggestions if I can find them. Thanks all! Guest guest
I have been using KAFIX and PERO and love the taste. PERO is made of barley, chicory and rye, and KAFIX, I think has beet root in it, but is missing one of the grains that PERO has, if I remember correctly. I mention the grains in case they are a problem... ~Inga 11/29/04 5:38 AM, Carol Minnick at carolminnick wrote: " Cyndie " <Gypsisoul2004 I was wondering if anyone knows of any good coffee alternatives. Guest guest
" June1 " <june1 NO, I don't believe there is any coffee in the Gano and if it had caffeine I would not be sleeping at night. June ======================================= I think it has something like 10 mg. of caffeine – a lot less than regular coffee, but if you are trying to eliminate caffeine you would not want to drink it, even with that limited amount of caffeine. Guest guest
I drink mine with evaporated milk or a good heavy cream and stevia. It is also delightful cold that way. If you like the Cafix, Pero also tastes almost identical. ~inga on 12/1/04 3:00 PM, Gypsisoul2004 at Gypsisoul2004 wrote: I got Cafix at the health food store yesterday and I really do like it!
