Guest guest
I just got my issue today and this little study caught my eye. It was nice to see a magazine for moms cover this, no matter how small the article was.*******************************************************************************************American BabyNovember 2004Help kids breathe more easilyExposure to high levels of VOCs, chemicals found in many common household products could raise your child's risk of developing asthma, according to Australian researchers. In a study of 88 children who were treated for asthma at an emergency room, researchers found that kids exposed to higher levels of VOCs were four times as likely to develop asthma as those who were not. VOCs are emitted as gases from products such as paints, air fresheners, cleaning products, floor adhesives, and new carpets. Simple ways to limit your child's exposure:1. Keep kids away when using these products.2. Open doors and windows for ventilation.3. Consider using "green" cleansers or vinegar and baking soda
