Amber - you mentioned that you use herbal alternatives to syntheroid.

Could you share what those are and where they could be obtained?

Thankyou!

Hi Cassandra:

==>There are 3 you can take, in descending order of importance: (1) Ashwagandha (supposedly converts nutrients into thyroid hormones; I know it does give you more energy. Dosage is 100-300mg/day; (2) EFA's, recommended dosage is 500mg Omega 3/day and 250mg Omega 6/day (personally I'd skip the Omega 6 as we get way too much in our diets already); and (3) Rosemary (supposedly has ability to enable thyroid hormones to communicate with every cell). Dosage is 50-100mg/day. You can get these three supplements at any health food store, altho I've had trouble finding rosesmary. If you can't live without pills, try Armour Thyroid. It's better than Syntheroid since it's made from animal thyroids. Do your research on this stuff. All standard disclaimers apply, your mileage may vary, yadda, yadda yadda. There is some interesting info on http://www.thyroidpower.com
