Guest guest
" If you are suffering these symptoms they are caused by nerve damage - neuropathy " After a recent accident in which I suffered injuries to the face, one side of the cheek and the upper lip is numb. Could this be due to nerve injury, and if so, will time heal? Peter
Guest guest
If the injury was recent then it could take up to a year to heal; depending on the severity of the injury it could take much longer but do not give up hope. Sometimes the healing is so slow that it seems as though it may never heal but you must remember that the torn nerves need to rebuild and that takes a LOT of time. Try gentle daily massage (using a baby oil or almond oil) and facial exercises; they will help get the muscles moving properly and hopefully aid recovery.
