Does the numbness go away after you get up and moving around? How old is your mattress? Consider a new Tempur Pedic mattress – prevents the pressure points that you get with ordinary mattresses that may be cutting off the circulation. Chiropractic may help. Years ago I fell off a ladder and ended up with a compression fracture in my lumbar region. I have a problem in that area because it’s where the sciatic nerve goes through down to the feet. If I don’t go to the Chiro every month, my one foot begins to get numb. So he corrects that and I’m fine for another month. Guest guest
Hi, Thanks for all the helpful hints. I was tested for diabetes a few years ago and the result was fine then. However, both of my parents are diabetic. I am 53 years old and consider myself pretty healthy. The numbness came a year ago. It started out with just the feet and then to the hands in the morning upon awakening. It usually goes away in the afternoon, if the weather warms up. The condition exacerbates in the winter months, but I live in Calfornia, which is not very cold. I generally sleep on top of a mat, which is very new, over the floor.
