Guest guest
Yes, the red wine is suposed to be good to prevent atherosclerosis-but the sufites are another consideration. This is what happens when you've been real "good" and then you're real "bad". You really feel the difference. It's like doing a Pavlov's Dog experiment on yourself. Once you've been on a diet clean of all the stuff we shouldn't eat and you binge it's really good that you realize what made you feel so bad as opposed to people that are eating so much all the time that they feel bad most of the time and don't know it's the food causing it. This is how I suggest to my patients that they clean up their diets: Eat strictly Monday through Friday 5PM. Eat everything you want Friday 5PM-Sunday night. AFter a few weeks of that you feel so bad by Sunday that you start no longer desiring the things you know you shouldn't have but you want anyway like a child that wants what their Mother told them not to eat. Educating the mind about what is healthy is one thing. OVercoming your personality to implement it is another. ---- Original Message ----- judy Sunday, October 10, 2004 3:39 PM Re: Surving Environmental Genocide Hey, I enjoy my wine just as much as you. In fact, isn't red wine, a glass or two good for you? I don't even drink but an occasional soda. Water is my usual. Now they are telling us that bottled water can be old and that maybe the chemical in the plastic have leached into the water. - DrLance ; DrLance Sunday, October 10, 2004 11:32 AM Surving Environmental Genocide Judy, I've about decided it's every woman for herself. I'm going to concentrate more on taking better and better care of myself to avoid being imprisoned during old age with the "health care" of American iatrogenic disease care. The best way to help others is to be a good example. OUtliving them and being healthier and better able to live independent lives enjoying our assets rather than writing checks to medical doctors and druggists until we are called home to our creator is the best revenge. IT'a hard enough to keep ourselves healthy and out of harm's way without worrying about how others are intentionally choosing to commit genocide on their own descendents with their own ignorance and blind trust in the mercenary population control U.S. Government as is your friend who continues to give her grandchildren aspertame. Do you have Betty Martini's e-mail address. I had to get her e-mails for about a year before I took her seriously and still it's hard to keep it out of your diet even when you are trying to eliminate. I find it difficult to continue to have the dicpline it takes to stay on the "wagon" of a healthy lifestyle if I'm not associating with like minded individuals. Yesterday I suscumed to temptaion: 3 glasses of wine, two scoops of ice cream and that delicious apple cobbler. Today I pay the price for many more hours of suffering than the 10-15 minutes of "enjoyment" abusing my blood sugar. Maybe we need a Death Diet Anonymous Club and I could have called you in my moment of weakness to help me control my fatal fork syndrome yesterday. Since I'd had to be a really good example to my brain injured friend who has honorably unbelievably improved his diet that consisted almost solely of soft drinks, cigarettes and canned food when I met him and has almost totally eliminated the soft drinks and substituted them with rice and soy milk with my guilt provoking hawkeye diet improvement therapy, I just couldn't wait to get everything I wanted that I knew I shouldn't have as soon as he was on the bus and couldnt' see what I was eating. Now he's reporting to me how bood he feels while he's controlling his desire to eat the things I've taught him he shouldn't eat and I'm in a hypoglycemic slump having transgressed my own lessons. Haven't decided yet if I'm going to confess to my student that I've got less self control than he does. Good time to remember the log and spinter parable. Guest guest
I remember back in the 80's on Weight Watcher's. They were very limited in the menu. Mustard on tuna instead of mayo. They wanted you to eat liver, but I could not stomach that. I did very well and stayed off sugar-I must have been eating some sort of artificial sweetener, but not sure which. When I would eat a real sugar item, or a fried food, it was so overwhelming I could barely tolerate it. For the past couple of years I take apple cider tablets, actually just one a day. While my friends (we are in our 50's) are trying Atkins or Weight Watcher's, or whatever is the diet of the day, I see them going up and down and then just giving up. I have stayed about the same weight for these two years. Not skinny, but not too bad for me. Doctor says I am ok. By the way, My cholesterol has dropped. I take Red Rice Yeast and I usually put about a half cup of dry oats on my cereal 4-5 times a week. I must be doing something right. - DrLance ; DrLance Sunday, October 10, 2004 4:31 PM Wine, Sulfites Yes, the red wine is suposed to be good to prevent atherosclerosis-but the sufites are another consideration.
