New Study Links Supplement Usage with Reduced Health

Care Costs, Improved Health

Make Sure Your Legislators and Local

Media Hear the Good News

You

may have already heard about a new study just released that links

dietary supplements with improved health and reduced health care costs

by the billions of dollars. Too often, however, the consumer news media

sends a negative message or minimizes the good news about the benefits

of dietary supplements. Be assured that we’re doing all we can to make

sure that the good news about this study gets across to media,

lawmakers and consumers. Now we need your help to make sure that your

legislators and local media know how important this study is to

constituents and consumers like you.

The

study, commissioned by the Dietary Supplement Education Alliance (DSEA)

and conducted by The Lewin Group, found that the five selected dietary

supplements – calcium, folic acid, omega-3 fatty acids, glucosamine and

saw palmetto have the potential to positively affect health status and

significantly reduce health care costs. Just two of these supplements,

calcium and folic acid, if taken regularly, could save Americans $15

billion over a five-year period if taken regularly.

Learn

more about the study’s findings and take action by going to NNFA’s

Advocacy Action Center by clicking here. Send a free e-mail to your

legislators and local media reminding them that supplements are a safe,

affordable and effective way to maintain and improve health for

millions of Americans.
