I appreciate your insight, however I

disagree that it is necessary to buy or take a lot of supplements if you are

simply eating the correct diet that your body needs. It is a matter of learning

nutritionally speaking what amino acids, antiaoxidents, nutrients and minerals

our body needs and finding those things within the food we eat. So many people

looking for a cure for something feel that they can just start taking the

supplements and all will be better. Not everyone takes the time to educate

themselves. I’ve been on this list for a while and I could be wrong but I

havn’t seen anything come across about cleansing which is why I specified

the other list was ALL about cleansing.

There is not much chance of being

overwhelmed or confused or taken by the marketing of so many of these

supplements if your getting what you need from the beginning which is your

diet. There ARE natural supplements that you can take but have more to do with

healing of the body, Echinacea tinctures. Another that’s a natural

antibiotic. But again these are all made with natural herbs, along the same

line as foods, and are not marketed by companies trying to convince you that

this vitamin is the best or this supplement drink is the best.

But those are just my thoughts, I

certainly didn’t mean to offend anyone, just responding to her

frustration, which I’ve had experience with.

I think we do a lot of cleansing on most lists,

Liz; this is a

foundational aspect of restoring and maintaining

health, and without

checking the archives of this group I would bet

that liver flushes,

glutathione precursors and antioxidants at the

very least have been

discussed here too.

What represents " crazy supplements and

crap " to some people

represents a life saver to others. I hope your

comment is just a

terminology problem. With respect, most people who

practice self-

health know that nutritional supplementation of

some sort is not at

all crazy, rather it is part of any health or

anti-aging program and

in fact you can't do a program without it.

Without supplements we can expect to age

gracefully and probably die

at a ripe old age of 75-85. Who wants that?

Practically all of my

clients are expecting to live to be over 100;

several are already

about 90 and they are shooting for 115! Mind you,

they aren't

strictly speaking on " supplements " but

rather " whole food extracts "

and " amino acids " which land around the

imaginary line between food

and supplements, and do appear to some people to

be supplements.

You bring up an interesting point Liz; with the right nutritional

program many people really do get better.

Nutritionally speaking, the nine sea vegetable and aloe gel extract

presented as Body Balance can certainly be eaten as staple foods, and

they will provide the nutrition you require. Whether they are brought

to market dried, pickled, fresh or as a concentrated liquid makes

little difference.

I think we can agree that with a land-based diet it's difficult to

obtain our 70 minerals, and the fucose for example, one of the eight

essential sugars. But three of the other essential sugars are

available in aloe vera, and two in whey powder.

I didn't save your exact comment about echinacea, but I'd refer

people to the power of aloe vera instead. Unlike echinacea, aloe,

like the sea vegetables, can fall into line with your assertion that

the best foods can be part of your daily food intake if you like

without resorting to using a supplement.
