Guest guest
I am always suspect of anything MLM, but for some reason I tried a bottle of Seasilver after I heard a "scientist" (don't remember what his qualifications were supposed to be) discussing all the benefits of sea vegetables and minerals, etc. It sounded good - we sure do need minerals. After just a couple days taking it, I started feeling remarkably better. (found out later that maybe I had some lupus) That lasted 'til a few days after the bottle was empty. A few weeks later, I bought another one, and the same thing happened. I left a message for their nutritionist, who finally called me back. She assured me that there were no herbs like ginseng or any pharmaceuticals in it, but that time, and every time since, they just seem so secretive about what's actually in it. Then for awhile there was a big brouhaha with the FDA or some agency over their labeling - claiming cures for disease and such - and they changed the formula and the label. I tried it again, and it didn't have the effect the earlier formula had had on me, and the taste was quite different. I don't remember now what exactly the things they were so evasive on, but their attitude was basically, "we know what's in it, and it's really good for you, and you don't really need to know all this proprietary information". Unfortunately, I had bought a whole case of it. I guess I decided that since it was supposed to have all those sea vegetables in it that it would be worthwhile to go ahead and take it instead of going to the hassle of returning it. Anybody have any information on this stuff? Joy
Guest guest
I think the reason the FTC (is that the right one?) closed them down for a while is because they were making outlandish claims that their product cured everything from hangnails to cancer. I believe it actually acts like an antibiotic – so you definitely wouldn’t want to take it all the time – it is not selective and will kill the good bacteria also. But I guess it would be ok for short term.
