Guest guest
Has anyone ever actually used this product? I went to the link and it was mostly a promotion thing to get you to buy the product. I would be interested in hearing comments. peggy As an alternative, Body Balance from Life Force International supplies an excellent range of vitamins, all the trace minerals, amino acids, phytosterols, polysaccharides including fucoidans and acemannans, in an organic, liquid, ionic, bioavailable supplement. Quite a mouthful, but whole food extracts are exactly what people are looking for in a supplement. It's made of nine wild sea vegetables and certified organic aloe gel.Given that it's balanced and pretty well exactly what the body requires, it's difficult to imagine a deficiency occurring when using it, but nevertheless some folks who are already sick do increase a few other supplements at least until they are well and then a balanced food should be adequate. Guest guest
Hi Peggy, I don’t know about that supplement – I would say it’s just a bunch of isolated ingredients assembled and they’re selling it as a “whole food”. A whole food is NOT isolated stuff, but just that – a whole food – nothing more nothing less. I can’t see how they can call it a whole food. A whole food would be a carrot – not an extract from it. There are some really good “real” whole food supplement – such as blue green algae or bee pollen – I’m sure there’s more but I can’t think of any right off the top of my head. Guest guest
I have a friend who tried Body Balance. He reports that it seems to be no different in effect than many other liquid supplements, except of course that it's more expensive than most. He prefers Sea Silver which is slightly cheaper. --- peggy autio <pcautio wrote: > > Has anyone ever actually used this product? I didn't expect such a fast response in people but the company says that after two bottles you'll notice a difference; that's just one month. At the very least it's a way to ditch the at best 12% bioavailable pill tray in favour of something that's more than 90% bioavailable (up to 98%, according to the doctor's textbook Harper's Biochemistry) This product was only offered through health professionals until recently. Guest guest
Hi Carol, What they've done with the sea vegetables in Body Balance is removed most of the pulp, that's all. People use their juicers at home for the same reason; to concentrate the nutrients. It's still a whole food. Nutrient concentration is a good thing; Because Body Balance is concentrated it can provoke a healing reaction. Guest guest
i think it is very interesting that of all of the responces i received by far the most of them have been from people selling the product not from those who actually use it. i have gone the route of multi level marketing organizations and that is usually what it is, just a promotion to buy something. peggy , " Carol Minnick " <carolminnick@a...> wrote: > Hi Peggy, > > I don't know about that supplement - I would say it's just a bunch of > isolated ingredients assembled and they're selling it as a " whole food " . > A whole food is NOT isolated stuff, but just that - a whole food - > nothing more nothing less. Guest guest
This is awful...this is my first post and I'm going to try to " sell " you something. I will intro in a second, but this subject is one of the reasons I'm here so I will tell you what I know. There is a book available, and I can't remember the name but will eventually get my hands on it, which rates Usana the #1 supplement. We became distributors recently because of the success I've had personally and the success of my mom's friend and lots of other people who take them. I was perfectly healthy, BUT had AWFUL allergies and was sluggish most of the time. As a mom of two, I could not keep up with the kids. My allergies got so bad and I got tired of taking the children's benedryl and falling asleep on my kids, so I tried Usana. I got relief within 2 hours. My allergies were completely gone. When I ran out of the supplements for a couple of days...they came back. And went again when I started back up. So it was no fluke. What is special about them? First, they are in pill form, but just because they aren't liquid or powder doesn't mean they aren't bioavailable. Second, they have what our bodies really NEED as far as vitamins and minerals. The FDA minimums are for keeping away deficiencies, not for maximum health. You can check out the labels on their website. Third, they are guaranteed to have what's on the label in each pill- one of the biggest problems with any supplement. The best thing about the company is how it started. Dr. Myron Wentz founded Gull Laboratories, and spent endless hours in the lab figuring out what human body cells needed to thrive. Years after his work began, he went to his pharmacist to find out what he should take as a vitamin. As he was talking on the phone one day, he read the back of the bottle and saw exactly what was in it. He almost fell out of his chair. He knew what human cells needed to thrive, and this was not it! He started making his own supplements and shared them with co-workers and employees. They had such success with them that Usana came out of this " experiment " and they have since become the #1 supplement. You can read more at www.usana.com and do searches on them, Dr. Wentz, Gull Laboratories, etc. It is not a company that sold make-up or water filters and then decided that supplements were the best thing to market....They are scientists who continually test their products and make sure that they are producing the best supplement on the planet. Okay, there's my spiel. Sorry to sound like a commercial, but it is such a great product I have to tell everyone I know. (They also have a children's vitamin and it looks like my son's developing asthma was stopped dead in its tracks- we will know next allergy season. I can't wait!) Guest guest
Well said Peggy. Another problem is that testimonials are basically worthless. If someone feels better that may be entirely subjective. That why real scientists use double blind testing. It's also possible that someone may have a significant deficiency in one nutrient. If they consume Body Balance, or anything else, that provides that nutrient, they may indeed feel much better. That doesn't mean that Body Balance is superior to anything else. --- Peggy <pcautio wrote: > i think it is very interesting that of all of the > responces i > received by far the most of them have been from > people selling the > product not from those who actually use it. i have > gone the route of > multi level marketing organizations and that is > usually what it is, > just a promotion to buy something. > peggy > > > > , " Carol > Minnick " > <carolminnick@a...> wrote: > > Hi Peggy, > > > > I don't know about that supplement - I would say > it's just a bunch > of > > isolated ingredients assembled and they're selling > it as a " whole > food " . > > A whole food is NOT isolated stuff, but just that > - a whole food - > > nothing more nothing less. Guest guest
This business about " isolated " nutrients continues unabated on this list. But it makes no sense. You talk about the body, as if it's a passive agent. But the body knows what to do with those isolated nutrients. It breaks foods down into isolated nutrients all the time. You're forgetting that the body must do this splitting of foods into single nutrients, constantly. It utilizes single, isolated substances in all its complex functions. To insist that the body cannot utilize single, isolated nutrients, is preposterous. Protein foods are not " utilized " in their whole state; they're " consumed " in a whole state. These protein-rich foods are then broken down into " isolated " amino acids, and the body uses these amino acids as it wishes and needs to. Many people who are selling it started to do so only after a period of using it. Using it is what makes them enthused about this nutritional product. Anyway, I understand the people who are selling it are also using it... I don't think that should necessarily invalidate their testimonials. One has to be registered with the company to get it for the good price. Being in their computer means you have an ID and can sell it too or more likely, get your family and friends on it. This is how the product gains exposure in the marketplace. By way of example, I told a disabled friend about it, and she told a friend of hers. Here's a note from this second lady, who is not selling it, " I feel the difference already -- great! " . She wrote this after just five days! And to be sure, she is telling her friends and family. She has no intention of running a business, but that might make her " selling it " if any of her family start to use it for example. So " selling it " is a very relative term. It's just viral marketing. Peggy, you can get a free bottle, match it with one you buy, and have a month's supply. You have no intention of selling it but at least you'll be able to see if it works for you. The fact that it has any noticeable effect at all is very cool considering it's just a nutritional product. I should have my first bottle by Monday; I'll keep you posted. regards, Duncan Crow
