The answer IS OBVIOUS to any thinking person! JoAnn Diet Drink Anyone? --Article written by Nancy Markle Here is the problem. The methanol in Aspartame converts to formaldehyde. Formaldehyde is grouped in the same class of drugs as cyanide and arsenic - DEADLY POISONS! Unfortunately, it just takes longer to quietly kill, but it is killing people and causing all kinds of *neurological* problems. Aspartame changes the brain's " chemistry " . It is the reason for severe seizures. This drug changes the *dopamine* level in the brain. Imagine what this drug does to patients suffering from Parkinson's and Alheimzers Disease. There is absolutely no reason to take this product. It is NOT A DIET PRODUCT. The Congressional record said, " It makes you crave carbohydrates and will make you FAT. " Aspartame is especially deadly for diabetics. All physicians know what wood alcohol will do to a diabetic. We find that physicians believe that they have patients with Alzheimers, when in fact, it is caused by the Aspartame. The Aspartame keeps the blood sugar level out of control, causing many patients to go into a coma. Unfortunately, many have died People were telling us at the Conference of the American college of Physicians, that they had relatives that switched from saccharin to an Aspartame product and how that relative had eventually gone into a coma. Their physicians could not get the blood sugar levels under control. Thus, the patients suffered acute memory loss and eventually coma and death. Memory loss is due to the fact that aspartic acid and phenylanine are neurotoxic without the other amino acids found in protein. Thus it goes past the brain barrier and deteriorates the neurons of the brain. Dr. Russell Blaylock, neurosurgeon, said, " The ingredients stimulate the neurons of the brain to death, causing brain damage of varying degrees. " Dr. Blaylock has written a book entitled, " EXVIROTOXINS : The Taste That Kills " (Health Press 800-643-2665). Dr. H.J. Roberts, diabetic specialist and world expert on Aspartame Poisoning has also written a book entitled, " Defense against Alzheimer's Disease " (800-814-9800) Dr. Roberts tells how Aspartame Poisoning is escalating Alzheimer's Disease and indeed it is. As the hospice nurse told me, women are being admitted at 30 years of age with Alzheimer's Disease. Dr. Blaylock and Dr. Roberts will be writing a position paper with some case histories and will post it on the Internet. According to the Conference of the American College of Physicians, " We are talking about a plague of neurological diseases caused by this deadly poison. " Dr. Roberts realized what was happening when Aspartame was first marketed. He said, " his diabetic patients presented memory loss, confusion, and severe vision loss. " At the Conference of American College of Physicians, doctors admitted that they did not know. They had wondered why seizures were rampant (the phenylaline in Aspartame breaks down the seizures threshold and depletes serotonin, which causes manic depression, panic attacks, rage and violence). Just possible antidote for this poison because they are experiencing so many problems in their country. This " poison " is now available in 90 plus countries worldwide. Fortunately, we had speakers and ambassadors at the Conference from different nations who have pledged their help. We ask you to help too. Copy this article and warn everyone you know. Take anything that contains Aspartame back to the store. In the case of systemic lupus, which is triggered by Aspartame, the victim usually does not know that the Aspartame is the culprit The victim continues its use aggravating the lupus to such a degree, that sometimes it becomes life threatening. When we get people off the Aspartame, those with systemic lupus usually become symptomatic. During a lecture, I said, and quote, " If you are using Aspartame (NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc.) and you suffer from lupus or Fibromyalgia symptoms; spasms, shooting pains, numbness in your legs, cramps, vertigo, dizziness, headaches, tinnitus, joint pain, depression, anxiety attacks, slurred speech, blurred vision or memory loss, you probably have Aspartame disease. Guest guest
Mind Over MatterHealth Sciences Institute e-AlertMay 27, 2004Dear Reader,The number of patients diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease(AD) has been growing at an alarming pace over the pastdecade. During the same period, type 2 diabetes has become acritical health problem, with more than 40 million people inthe U.S. believed to be pre-diabetic. Now the Archives ofNeurology reports that the two conditions could be linked. As HSI members know, dietary changes and regular exerciseare the keys to curbing diabetes. And according to a recentstudy in the journal Diabetes Care, appropriate levels ofone vitamin may significantly help reduce the risk ofdeveloping type 2 diabetes.-----------------------------Tangled up in peptide-----------------------------Researchers at the Rush University Medical Center in Chicagoexamined data taken from nine years of clinical evaluationsconducted on 824 men and women over the age of 55. Type 2diabetes was diagnosed in 127 subjects, while 151 subjectsdeveloped Alzheimer's disease. (If this total of Alzheimer'scases seems high, it is. In fact, it's more than 5 percenthigher than the norm for this age group.)Among those who developed Alzheimer's, 31 also had diabetes.Overall, patients with diabetes were found to have a 65percent increased risk of AD. In addition, diabetes wasassociated with a significantly higher rate of decline inperceptual speed. In an interview with the Associated Press, William Thies, the vice president for medical and scientific affairs forthe Alzheimer's Association, noted that this long-term studyis among the first to track diabetes parallel to theprogression of Alzheimer's in subjects with no signs of thedisease at the outset. What the study doesn't reveal is why there may be aconnection between diabetes and AD. Some researchers believethat high glucose levels may play a role in the abnormalprocessing of a protein that prompts the accumulation ofpeptide tangles - typical to Alzheimer's - that can destroybrain cells.-----------------------------The magnesium factor-----------------------------In the e-Alert "Sweet Tooth" (11/3/03), I told you about aJohns Hopkins University School of Medicine Study thatrevealed a clear association between low serum magnesiumlevels and an elevated risk of type 2 diabetes. Now a newstudy, from Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard MedicalSchool (BWH), has confirmed the magnesium/diabetesconnection.Researchers evaluated data from Women's Health Study foodfrequency questionnaires completed by more than 39,000 womenover a period of six years. The BWH team also measuredinsulin levels in 349 of the subjects to examine therelationship of magnesium intake to insulin.Analysis of the combined data showed a significantassociation between elevated levels of magnesium and areduced risk of diabetes. And among women with adequatemagnesium levels who were also overweight, diabetes risk wasmore than 20 percent lower when compared to overweight womenwith low magnesium.-----------------------------Mineral most wanted-----------------------------In addition to the many good reasons to avoid type 2diabetes, there are also many good reasons to keep yourmagnesium levels high.In e-Alerts and HSI Members Alerts we've told you about thewide range of magnesium benefits, including the promotion ofbone health and prevention of heart disease. Fortunatelymagnesium is easy to get from dietary sources such as leafygreen vegetables, nuts and whole grains. The down side: Many factors contribute to magnesiumdepletion. High stress and menstruation can take their tollon magnesium levels, while a heavy intake of starches, alcohol, diuretics and some prescription drugs (such as antibiotics)can increase urinary excretion of magnesium. If a blood test shows your magnesium levels to be low (anormal range is anywhere between .66 and 1.23 millimoles perliter), HSI Panelist Allan Spreen, M.D., recommends 500 mgsupplement of magnesium per day, with the added note thatmagnesium gluconate and chelated magnesium are the preferredforms to look for.... and another thingGo ahead... pass the salt.Mainstream medicine tells us that patients with hypertensionshould avoid salt in their diets. But recently this idea hasbeen questioned, and often dismissed by many doctors. For instance, according to the late Robert C. Atkins, M.D.,author of "Dr. Atkins' Diet Revolution," the problem forthose with high blood pressure isn't sodium, it's a lack ofbalance between sodium and potassium levels.Dr. Atkins cites the results of 30 separate studies thatshow how increasing potassium intake (without decreasing thesodium) is an effective way to lower blood pressure. One ofthose studies demonstrated that with just one daily servingof a potassium-rich food the risk of death by stroke may becut by as much as half. The good news: It's easy to increase the potassium in yourdiet. High potassium fruits include apricots, bananas, cantaloupe, honeydew melon and citrus fruits. Vegetableswith good amounts of potassium are asparagus, potatoes, green beans, avocados, lima beans, winter squash, andcauliflower. Other foods high in potassium: grain products, red meat, poultry, seafood and dry beans, such as peas andlentils. It would be difficult to get too much potassium from dietarysources alone. But if you're already getting plenty ofpotassium in your diet, a potassium supplement would beunnecessary for most people, and in some extreme cases couldlead to kidney damage and other complications. As is so often the case, the key here is balance. To Your Good Health,Jenny ThompsonHealth Sciences InstituteSources:"Diabetes Mellitus and Risk of Alzheimer Disease and Declinein Cognitive Function" Archives of Neurology, Vol. 61, No.5, ncbi.nlm.nih.gov"Diabetes Linked to Increased Alzheimer's Risk" AssociatedPress, 5/17/04, msnbc.com"Dietary Magnesium Intake in Relation to Plasma InsulinLevels and Risk of Type 2 Diabetes in Women" Diabetes Care,Vol. 27, No. 1, January 2004, ncbi.nlm.nih.gov"Magnesium May Reduce Risk of Diabetes" Karen Collins, R.D.,MSNBC Nutrition Notes, 5/7/04, msnbc.com"Potassium and Salt" Alternative Medicine Angel, altmedangel.comCopyright ©1997-2004 by www.hsibaltimore.com, L.L.C.The e-Alert may not be posted on commercial sites withoutwritten permission.
