Guest guest
I occurs to me that the basic reason for all the turmoil surrounding abortion (for or against) is because of two thing:1) the horrible thought of murdering a living baby 2) the uncertainty about when " Life " begins with a baby. I would offer some things for thought. We ALL agree we would never ever wish to murder a living baby.Does the fact that a 6week or a 6 month old fetus exists, make it a Living being? If that is so, what about cutting out cancer tumors from a mothers body? They are living things apart from the usual biological individual that is the mother. What if the determinating factor for a living Being was the time soul actually enters the baby's body? And what if Soul actually entered a baby's body at or immediately around the time of delivery (no matter the age of the fetus.) If that was the case, we would know exactly when to differentiate between abortion of Living tissue with the potential to become a Living Being and between murder of a Living Being.Could we not agree to that theoretically? I have NO scientific proof for what I am about to say, but I am quite comfortable that I KNOW it to be (my) truth: I am a retired anesthetist. I have given anesthesia to over 5 thousand women for deliveries(this is not so common now). I was born with a gift that I assumed others had...but not so. I am somewhat uncommon. At every delivery I attended, I could see Soul hovering around the mother, or the baby's body and would witness it entering. The entering was never at exactly the same time as others and seemed to be dependent upon the Soul that was to inhabit the baby's body. It seemed the Soul had a choice and on occasion, the choice was to leave and not accept this particular body. When that occured, the infant never could be brought to life. If you have attended births, you surely have noticed that a baby sometimes will appear lifeless until it cries. Suddenly it is animated and alive! That was the point that SOUL entered. Sometimes I would observe an over anxious Soul enter while the baby was struggling to be born. In that case, the head would emerge and those little eyes would be blinking and looking around with intelligence, while the body was still inside mom. I offer you this completely unscientific and unreligious view point. I do not expect you all to believe it. I will say, my experiences were so exciting and there was always an aura of Love surrounding the little Soul entering. It really was a hallowed occasion! One more consideration: Much is said about partial birth abortions. On the rare occasion, I was asked to give anesthesia for this difficult procedure. Each time I assisted it was for a baby who was called an " Anecephalic Monstrosity. " This is a baby's body that had developed with no nervous system. That means, no spinal cord at all and no brain or skull. The partial birth abortion was to prevent the eventuall birth. Can you imagine the Mother and father seeing a child born with a body that had no back and the head was only a flat face (like a mask) attached to a neck? The few I saw gave me nightmares. IF parents ever saw such a thing, do you think they would EVER attempt to have another child, or, ever feel they were, themselves, normal? Of course, there is never any question of this baby tissue ever being able to live even though it's heart beats within the mother. It is just living tissue, just like a tumor. Of course i am comforted greatly with the knowlege I have which you are welcome to benefit from if you wish to.(smile) Best Wishes, Judy
Guest guest
Judy, Thank you for your compassionate way of sharing your truth, and your gift. At the other end of the line I have witnessed individuals near death which I have been certain were devoid of soul. That is, while their body was technically alive, I felt that their soul was no longer inhabiting it. Can I prove this? No. And I wouldn't hasten the " death " of the body because of what I perceive. It is up to each individual family to decide how the ending of a human life is to happen. Where I think we get into trouble is the point at which we try to make these decisions for others. Life is sacred. No doubt about it. When life begins and ends is still hotly debated by intelligent, caring folks on both sides of the issue. My personal opinion is that we need to let and help each person come to some kind of understanding about it, so that they may make a compassionate choice in the circumstances of their own personal situation. Guest guest
Terry, Judy, Group and the unborn It is the CHOICE of the mother regardless if meddle-some laws are made or not. The laws force Doctors to make a decision of risking their profession or not to provide a professional environment for the deed to be accomplished. The debate over whether or not the baby is a living soul although important doesn't make a bit of a difference. To me the life of the unborn is important, so I would suggest helping the mother and unborn and continuing afterwords to better the life of children. A lot of the emperical help that I have witnessed the poor recieve includes pretensious self glorification, of gifts such asr a can of pork and beans, and USDA cheese etc.. So government instead of making restrictions should be a help. Part of family planning should be to steer the mother towards a hopeful birth and raising of her child, by inspiring hope rather than fear and force. I have talked with many young women who tell me that I am right. Some have told me that they wish they had someone like me to talk to them before they had an abortion. Some tell me they wonder everyday what their baby would have looked like. You have to appeal to the emotions of the mother. Emotions dictate her thinking which dictates her emotions which dictate her thinking, so that she is caught up in a closed loop frinzy of bad thinking and needs drawn out of her bad thinking. Politcians aren't always aware of this, but if they are, they don't dare say anything because it is such a hot ISSUE. They can take polls and make promisses, but you can't depend on politicians.
