Guest guest
Hi, I am going to try the Food First program offered by Brain Garden...I will let you know my progress. This is a 10-day experiment with whole food, which is designed to reduce cravings, feel more energetic and snack all day if you want, and lose 5 to 15 lbs. while changing eating habits. I haven't gotten my Food First package yet, but I have been trying the products and they are really good. No additives or supplementation, this is all whole, raw food ingredients in a convenient form, balanced carbs, proteins and fats. It is very filling and tastes great. It's just FOOD, not some diet-product. My sister-in-law lost 17 lbs. in the first month, and 24 lbs. in two months. I am impressed by that...though I don't know if I will be able to stick completely with the program. I am used to eating anything I want, only recently that has started to put on lots of unwanted weight. This program includes a website with recipes, documenting results, plus they offer email and telephone support. My intent is to go through the 10 days, then continue eating Pulse for snacks and one meal replacement per day. Here is one of many success stories that helped me make this decision: " I started a Food First program to lose weight. I made an attitude adjustment. I decided I could do anything for 10 days. I realize I have the power within me to make choices. " After ten days I lost 11 pounds, and to date I have lost 42. My blood sugar came down from a high of 185 to 94. My blood pressure went from 165/95 to 114/64. My cardiologist tells me I am healthier now than I have been in years. She explained that the natural sugar and fiber in Pulse levels out my blood sugar. I am off all my medications. " Food First helped me break some major food addictions-- today I crave fruits and vegetables. I eat at least one serving of Pulse every day, usually with breakfast. Guest guest
Jerri, Why couldn’t you do this yourself – I mean if it’s just food – couldn’t you buy your own whole, raw food and eat that instead of buying this? Seems like it would be way cheaper. Carol ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Would you benefit from a more effective and healthy immune system? http://www.bluegreensolutions.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -----Original Message----- Lupo [lupo (AT) cybermesa (DOT) com] I haven't gotten my Food First package yet, but I have been trying the products and they are really good. First of all, I have taken spirulina for many years, and you love your blue-green algae. Someone might say, why don't you just buy seaweed and eat that? Of course, it is more convenient and more powerful to eat algae in condensed form, and the nutrients are more readily bio-available. That aside, the foods that Brain Garden have developed are not intended to completely replace " real food " – but they can replace fast-food, convenience foods, empty-nutrition and snacks. It's a conditioning process to retrain the tastebuds and reprogram emotional triggers we have around food. I have always been a creative cook and I enjoy all kinds of foods, so I am not coming into this from the vegan/raw foods perspective. On the other hand, I do see the logic in eating some raw foods and I can't say it appeals to me to try to replicate the 24 whole-food ingredients which are contained in a Pulse bar, for example –fruit, nuts, seeds, grains and oils in a balanced, delicious form. It is a complete meal or snack replacement, not even fortified, not a quick sugar hit for short-term energy. Pulse gives me a natural energy boost and satisfies my hunger. Other products in this line include Parched Pulse, which is dried vegetables that are a tasty snack—also nut mixes, dehydrated fruit, soups, salsas...and while it is more expensive than the raw materials would be I find the convenience allows me to substitute for expensive fat-loaded chips, quick processed meals and the price comes off the top of my grocery bill. I tend to spare no expense when it comes to buying good food, so this has not been a problem. Surprisingly, people who are overweight are often undernourished. (You know this, and that is why green foods such as algae can make a tremendous difference.) They crave more food because their body is hungry for nutrients. Once your body is satisfied with balanced primary nutrition on a daily basis, and probiotic bacteria to help assimilate them, cravings go down and weight loss happens naturally. I could go on for a long time, but I just wanted to emphasize WHY I would choose this food to help me to lose weight when perhaps I should or could just eat the perfect diet on my own. This Food First program is a way of re-training the system to reduce craving and increase energy with a simple change in habits. They also offer a comprehensive online support to help you through the process. I am feeling very positive about this!
