On the sixty second ad the statistics are off. Clay says 1 in 250, those of us who live this life know they are far worse now (1 in 150). And all though tt's very nice that Clay did this for our kids doing it for the autism coalition I think was a bad call. Since CAN (who takes financial incentives from certain drug companies) is a part of autism coalition I have reservations about the whole coalition. Before one goes into business with someone their backgrounds, finances and connections should be investigated. DEB

Clay Aiken tapes Public Service Announcements on behalf of the Autism CoalitionApril 6, 2004

Singing sensation Clay Aiken recently taped 30-second and 60-second public service announcements on behalf of the Autism Coalition for radio airplay beginning this April in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. These spots provide listeners with facts about autism and urge them to visit the Coalition’s website for more information. If you have connections with local radio stations in your area and would like to get these public service announcements aired, please contact Ann Hyatt at the Autism Coalition, 914-935-1462.The Autism Coalition is grateful to Clay Aiken for sharing his time and talent on behalf of our cause. Before becoming a star on American Idol, Clay studied special education while in college in North Carolina and worked with children with developmental disabilities, including autism. He continues to be a champion for autism research and education. The Autism Coalition also wishes to thank our board member, Paul Levine and Bill Roden of Gerngross Clark, as well as our friends at NJ COSAC for assisting in the production and distribution of these PSA's.
