And now it is starting to happen in the USA Why is it that we alow this? _____ http://curezone.com/forums/m.asp?f=237 & i=597 Europe First To Ban Supplements News: Breaking Health NewsDescription | Health News | Rules | Disclaimer Europe First To Ban Supplements by Lapis 19 h Europe First To Ban Supplements Lapis | All Lapis's Messages | 4/4/2004 7:52:00 PM ( 7 days ago ) Got this very important message from Duncan in onte of the groups were in. Please Read:************************************************************In August 2005 everything in Europe is about to changedue to the EU Food Supplements Directive (FSD). Banneditems will include natural vitamins such as mixedtocopherols (natural vitamin E), carotenoids and b-12methylcobalamin, all forms of sulphur, boron, vanadium, silicon and most trace elements, the most readilyabsorbed and safest forms of calcium, magnesium, zinc, selenium, chromium and molybdenum. It will severelylimit the doses of vitamins and will remove allhigh-dose products from the market. It will includefuture restrictions on nutrients such as fatty acids, amino acids, enzymes, probiotics, phytonutrients, etc.The directive will dramatically limit future innovationin the supplements industry, and seriously impactretail outlets, complementary practitioners andconsumers who choose to take responsibility for theirown health and let food be their medicine. Here, again, is where it affects us: the draconian EUDirective goes far beyond denying most Europeans accessto safe nutritional supplements; it is about to be usedas the blueprint for establishing international dietarysupplement laws at Codex, which our government in itsquestionable wisdom has made us part of. Codex willoutlaw or severely restrict virtually everythingmillions of us have grown accustomed to using safelyevery day. National borders don't mean much anymore; weare witnessing the rapid unification of the world intoa new global government with Europe at the helm. Whenthe World Trade Organization (WTO) was given teeth toenforce international trade laws in the early 1990s,all WTO member nations agreed to harmonize their tradelaws to new international laws so every nation operatesby the same set of standards. Since then, every singleruling that the WTO has made has gone against theenvironment, against the public health, againstconsumer rights, against labor rights, and againsthuman rights. Although activists protested against theWTO, most people were unaware that it would eventuallylead to an incremental attack on all of our foodsupplements around the world. Most supplement companieshave simply gone along with the advice from theirpharmaceutically dominated trade associations.Germany, the largest pharmaceutical manufacturingnation on earth, currently dominates the EU which hoststhe Codex Committee on Nutrition and Foods For SpecialDietary Use, and is leading the charge to railroad ourdietary supplement laws into internationalharmonization. The European Union is the blueprint bywhich our would-be rulers intend to form a globaltotalitarian state. What they're doing with the EU istheir first project; they're trying to make and controlsimilar regional trading blocks all over the world. Forexample, they're trying to create the Free Trade Areaof the Americas (FTAA) through which they're trying toharmonize the laws between Canada, the U.S., Mexico, and Central and South America. The Alliance for Natural Health (ANH), a consumeradvocacy group based in Britain, was recently grantedthe green light to challenge the Food SupplementsDirective at the last minute; however, very rarely hasa EU Directive ever been overturned and in this case,it would be a historic event considering thepharmaceutical interests backing its implementation.Resources are very scarce but they've got to keep thelawsuit going to overturn the Directive before it's toolate. They've hired a top legal staff and they aregirded for battle in a EU Court. With the EU expandingby ten more nations in early 2004 to a combined totalof twenty-five member nations, and with heavy pressureto finalize a Codex vitamin standard, the situation iscritical. If the FSD is not overturned now, withEurope's ever-expanding power it's very possible thatthere will be enough countries onboard to overrule theprotests of the few countries at Codex, where manyparts of the FSD will be used when new internationalvitamin laws are codified. Once a Codex vitamin law isfinalized, it will supercede any member country'ssupplement laws. The only way for a country to trulyprotect its vital interest on this and other matters isto get out of the U.N. and the WTO entirely, a 'bestcase' scenario that nobody realistically seeshappening. In the 21st century we live under siege. There areconcerns about pesticides, herbicides, antibiotics, GM,mobile phones, microwaves, amalgam fillings, fallingsperm counts, mad cows, MMR - even milk. Farmed salmonis a Trojan horse for carcinogens. Obesity and diabetesare on the march. There is a mass of documentation onall this. So what is the European Commission's bigidea? 'Let's clamp down on vitamins and minerals.'In order to prevent a sinister one-world governmentfrom mining people as the resource, usurping ournatural freedoms and dictating our moves, we must ponyup and donate to the ANH so they can make a decentlegal presentation; if we don't do it for ourselves, how about our grandchildren and the rest of society?
