Guest guest
Well, good news for the home team! This was the rice that would produce two human proteins, to prevent infections in infants. It's all about $$$$ folks, and we are the guinea pigs. I only hope it wasn't "nixed" because of a technicality which can be reviewed and passed. Worth keeping an eye on IMO. Peace - Anna ____ The USDA wouldn't explain why it denied Ventria the license, and spokesman Jim Rogers declined to comment. But he said the company has redrafted its proposal and submitted it again, and the agency is reviewing it. The Contra Costa Times reported that the USDA denied the license partly because the pharmaceutical rice would be grown within 100 feet of rice intended for human and animal food. In addition to Ventria, Dow Chemical and Epicyte Pharmaceuticals are experimenting with corn, soybeans, tobacco, rice and sugar crops to find a cheaper way to mass-produce drugs, instead of building more manufacturing plants. http://www.wired.com/news/medtech/0,1286,63010,00.html Your shorter link is: http://makeashorterlink.com/?E15F25CF7 ---Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).Version: 6.0.648 / Virus Database: 415 - Release 3/31/
