For this reason I am making food totally from scratch now as much as I can - I can determine my own ingredients then :-)

I have just received my Kenwood Chef machine, with grain mill attachment, pasta maker attachment, and juicer (for hard fruit/veg) attachment!! That will go a long way to being totally self sufficient from natural raw ingredients. I should have my bread maker very soon also. Quite costly (!) and of course a lot of extra work, but I think the results will be worth it LOL. I've been working on improving diet for about 6-12 months now, and we're getting better all the time. As money becomes available, and as I do more research, it improves each time.

With all these postings on dairy, I just wonder if I have a dairy problem myself? As a kid I used to have ear infections a lot (now can't go out in winter without ear cover as my ears get very painful in cold/windy weather) and I crave milk. I know there is something in my diet not optimum, as I cannot seem to find the right balance of food to eat - I get cravings, run out of energy, etc.. I haven't yet figured out what it is that needs changing. So maybe it is the milk? Maybe I'll join my son in his non-dairy diet, and see what happens?

Re: [herbal remedies] Ritalin (ILANA)

A few months ago a light bulb went off in my head and my son wasdrinking ALOT of milk during this one week and had a very bad weekin school. He had dark circles under his eyes ( a symptom of dairysensitivity). However, so many food items contain dairy--butter,whey, dry milk,......it can get difficult.I try to avoid it as much as I can. Reading ingredients and findingalternatives.Take CareGina

Lisa,

It's either that or it also sounds like how some people react to wheat. But

I'd try going off the dairy first and seeing if it makes a difference.

Good idea Lisa. Most of us adult types get way to much dairy.
