Guest guest
Hi Ilana, Most likely you are experiencing a cleansing of toxins coming out through the lymph system. Do you drink coffee? I ask this because after two years of cleansing my body through nutrition and juice fasting I notice the odor under my right arm almost immediately after drinking coffee, or using dairy, grains, meat, etc. Try a good organic apple juice fast for three plus days and see if that helps. Get your self enough unpasturized organic apple juice so you have 1 gallon a day and enough distilled water for the same amount. What you wish to do is first thing in the AM drink 16 ounces of prune juice. Take 1 or 2 tablespoons of organic cold pressed olive oil three time a day for lubrication. 1/2 hour after drinking the prune juice drink and thoroughly chew an 8 ounce glass of the apple juice. 1/2 later drink 8 ounces of distilled water. Keep this up alternating apple juice and distilled water at 30 minute intervals until you have consumed 1 gallon of apple juice and 1 gallon of distilled water. Do not eat anything during the day while doing this. If you are hungry towards evening take an apple and chew it thoroughly. If you become constipated during this fast drink more prune juice. On the fourth day begin taking fresh vegetable juices and other fruit juices and eat fresh fruits and vegetables. No matter what do not be afraid to continue with this fast for longer periods if you wish. This will clean out your lymph system and get rid of a lot of toxins in the process. HTH, Don Quai - Ilana Grostern Herbal Saturday, January 11, 2003 3:35 PM [herbal remedies] Embarassing problem Okay, here's a fun one for you all. Maybe you can help me to find an answer. In March I cleaned my diet up dramatically. I had been suffering from weird stomach pains and after a visit to my naturopath I cut all refined food and sugars out of my diet and dramatically increased my intake of vegetables and grains (still working on the legumes, though). I kicked my sugar "addiction" and without even trying dropped a good five pounds. I have no cravings, I just get hungry. So in that regard I consider myself my own success story because not only did the pains disappear but I feel and look better in general. Now the odd part: ever since I made this change I notice that I have a bit of a body odor problem which I have NEVER had in my entire life. And the smell seems to emanate from one armpit, my right one, and is unlike anything i have ever smelled on myself. It's rather acrid and almost animal-like. I'm starting to think that maybe I have blocked lymph nodes or something like that on my right side. I've been doing research on the net but haven't found anything and I'm actually embarassed to go see my naturopath because she's also my nutrition teacher.Does anyone have any idea of what this might be about? I wake up in the morning and I reek! Thanks,ILANA xoxox-- Chimera13 Multimedia Inc.Sales (514) 952-5351Art Department (514) 733-9445http://www.chimera13.caFederal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. Guest guest
Donald, Wow, I wonder if I have will-power to do that? I wouldn't do it now because I'm trying to get pg (although some may argue that I should do this before becoming pg because then my body will be cleaner) but if in a few months I'm still not then maybe I could suspect that I still have too many toxins in my body. No, I don't drink drink coffee or tea, only herbal teas that are mainly made of nettle. It's interesting because I've been "clean" for almost a year (though I guess I do slip up from time to time as I'm not at the point where I can go to other's houses for dinner and not eat what they serve me. I only reject the sugar dishes) and I eat almost entirely organic and yet I'm still holding onto toxins. I even lost about 5 pounds of fat just like that and drink enough water that they should have filtered out. Perhaps come spring I'll try the fast you suggested. I'm just not sure if I could do the prune juice thing because it makes me nauseous. Have you done this one? Guest guest
Hi Ilana, Consider this, take your current age up to the point you started changing your diet. Now consider how long you have been eating wrong, putting toxins into your body, poisons (environmental or otherwise), flurodated and chlorinated water, dairy, preprocessed foods, junk foods, flour products, sugars, etc, etc, etc, ad nauseum. Do you really think you are going to get all those toxins out overnight? Not likely. Your body has slowly become filled with mucus from eating acid forming foods, and caching away toxins in the liver and fat. Not easy to get rid of. This mucus begins loading up in your body at the cellular level and slowly proceeds over time to take in organs and systems, if we continue on with our wrong choice of eating. Hence so many people in their later years end up having organ failure or major system shutdowns. Takes time and effort. Body and organ cleansing, fasting either with or without juices and paying strict attention to your diet, exercise, water you drink, amount of sleep you get and fresh clean air to breathe. I have done this fast twice and am about to do it again for a two week fast. My last one was for 6 days. I felt great during and after the fast. As for the prune juice, the purpose of the prune juice, besides the obvious, is to draw the toxins from all parts of the body into the colon so they can be gotten rid of. You may also use Doc's Intestinal Cleanse #1 along with it but the prune juice is very important. You might also consider doing The liver, bowel, kidney and total body cleanses that are in the files as well. These will aid greatly in speeding up the process of toxin removal. But the mucus takes time. Start drinking your water with some fresh squeezed lemon in it as this will facilitate removal of the mucus from the cellular level but still will take time. Feel free to ask for more info or clarification. Guest guest
Along with the other remedies....you may want to try an essential oil such as Juniper (that's the one that I can think of currently, and it's probably the best one, but I'll look up others). Juniper is detoxifying for nearly all the body's systems, including the lymphatic. Make a rather strong blend of Juniper and a carrier oil. I would go with an astringent carrier oil, such as Hazelnut, but any will due. While in the shower, massage the areas of your lymph nodes...under your armpits, groin area, neck (all around), etc. Massaging the lymph nodes alone helps them drain. Juniper smells good too, so it might help temporarily with the odor problem. I also have become a huge fan of apple cider vinegar. It is literally good for all that ails you. Another thought comes to mind. Do you use deodorant? Deodorant is a big no no...but I suspect you probably don't, which is a good thing. But just for informational sake here for others...deodorant blocks things up. The more you use it, the more you need it. My mother sweats, alot. But I really haven't noticed any odor problem associated with it, but she did...I guess she would know, lol...I've never really gotten that close to her armpits. Well one day she was telling me how she used this brand or that brand, and nothing works. My suggestion: stop using it. She thought I was nuts. Well my stubborn mother wouldn't listen to me until it was her last resort. Finally she relented and hasn't touched a stick of deodorant since. I will use deodorant *very* occasionally...like when I get called into work in the middle of the night and don't have time to take a shower, lol. With that, I can really feel the residue left over for days after I've used it, no matter how much I try to scrub it off. And it makes me itch on top of everything else...nothing more attractive than scratching your armpits, LOL. I've never in my life really used it, even before I studied natural remedies. One stick would literally last me a lifetime if I didn't throw them away when they got all dried up, lol. Another thing...bras are known to block your lymphatic system. Guest guest
Ilana, don't be embarassed. There probably is some toxins being removed through the skin. You might want to add some epsom and/or sea salt to your bath to help draw this stuff out. Another possibility is you may want to do a liver cleanse, cause bad stuff builds up in there over the years.
