Guest guest
hi... the horse and the healing challenges! I realize that no links are to be given on this site. But since nothing is being sold on this site (at least at this time).I am placing the link. If you go to this site it will show you pictures of a horse with serious wound on its chest... that was not yielding to antibiotics, caledula, and golden seal salves. The treatment you see began after six weeks of detriration of the wound when the vet had advised that he was at his wits end and may not be able to save the horse. There are many ways besides the vets to heal a wound of this magnitude, and deal with potential threats of infection. Homeopathic ledum (marsh tea).. and hypericum (st john's wort) would be indespensable in this situation. Arnica (arnica montana ) would be invaluable besides. I have personal experience with this oil. I can assure you of its effecacy. If you have any further thoughts please write to me privatly as I know that the rules of the site are tretched simply by my posting the above. But I wanted you to have a visual experience that what you are called to heal in your horse.. though serious is not unsurmountable. Well, this time he has lacerated his face. He tore a large flap of skin on his forehead and the skull was showing underneath. Not too much blood, but some. I of course was panic-stricken and called the vet (who took an hour and a half to GET there!!!). He shaved the area, cleaned and flushed the wound and we ended up with 17 stitches and 13 staples. By the time the vet was finishing up I regained some of my wits and declined the tetanus shot that he suggested (I know my horse's titer levels are still high from his before-me baby vaccinations) and I also have a tetanus nosode. I will not be able to give him the nosode until tomorrow morning (this didn't happen at home where I have my "supplies") do y'all think that will be ok??? I am also planning on homeopathic arnica, again, can't give anything til tomorrow morning. I'm thinking calendula solution on the wound?? I'm also not sure what he should be getting herbally. The vet gave me antibiotics, but I'm returning to my senses and I don't want to give these to him. I was just so flustered at the sight of my horse looking like Frankenstein I couldn't think of all the rational reasons NOT to give antibiotics so that I could logically explain them to the vet....lol...he already thought I was insane to refuse the tetanus booster. SO...HELP!!! What should I give him to speed healing, minimize scarring and prevent infection??? I don't have any BF & C formula, and there is no way for me to get the ingredients in time to make it before his stitches are out....anything I can pick up at the healthfood store that will do??
