Guest guest
C’mon Guys! Let’s get real! Let’s face it! There is NO such thing as “The Cold and Flu Season”!! No way Jose! It just doesn’t exist!!! It is NOT natural. It is created!!! What really happens at this time of year? Why do everyone and their grandmother “all of a sudden” come down with a cold or the flu? Welllll - can we look at “Cause” and “Effect” and maybe own up to a few things? All we have to do is take a little responsibility here. Let’s ask ourselves a couple of important questions. “When does “Cold and Flu Season” start? Answer: Right after the Christmas / New Year holiday season! And what’s so significant about that? Answer: It’s the one time of year when we pig out more than any other. We eat more greasy foods and junk, drink more booze, and devour more chocolate, sweets, and other “White Sugar” products than at any other time of the year. Furthermore, the holidays can be emotionally stressful if we find ourselves in a family situation where we have to put up with certain family members we would normally prefer not to have around. Hey! It does not take a college course in Logic to figure this out. Most people are aware that both white sugar and alcohol suppress the immune system in a big way. Add to this the increased stress level with relatives, isn’t it then logical that following such a physical and emotional overload, we will then be the most open to these “diseases”? Do you think the Medicos, the Psychs, and the Pharmaceuticals are not aware of this? OK. Now that we’ve admitted ourselves as being “Cause” over this event, and we’ve now realized that this cold or flu that we’re now experiencing is a self inflicted wound, what are we going to do about it? And what can we do to “causatively” heal ourselves? Wellllll, you’re in luck, because there’s a simple answer to this question as well. When you use Total Tonic with Echinacea and DMSO, you have a trio that can rapidly knock out the most stubborn cold, flu or plague. I call this combination “Herbal Healing Dynamite”. Furthermore, when you’re attacking these ills head on, I recommend eating raw organic fruits and vegetables, and drinking freshly squeezed, organic juices only. No cooked food!!! Additionally, a hot bath or a sauna before bedtime will create a “false fever”. Every time the thermometer shows a higher degree of temperature, the speed of the white blood cells doubles. White blood cells are the body’s protection and have the job of attacking and killing off any infection. In order to make sure you do not get dehydrated from the false fever, you should make a tea preferably with finely chopped, organic ginger root placed in 6 cups of distilled water and simmered for 15 minutes. Drinking 6 cups of any herbal tea while in the hot sauna / bath, will help “sweat out” the illness so that you feel better by the next day. As an added note, the correct gradient approach for using the above would be: (1) at the first sign of a sniffle or sore throat, use the Total Tonic by itself; (2) if that doesn’t turn it around immediately (which it usually does), then add the Echinacea; (3) for a very heavy attack on your immune system or an outbreak of plague, add the DMSO. I have made tinctures and salves, etc. before and am thrilled to have this recipe for Total Tonic. To tincture, do I add more apple cider vinegar or just leave it as is for two weeks, shaking regularly, and strain? If you need to use right away - strain what you need.... then let the rest sit - yes you can add some more acv to mixture. Another Question: In the Colds and Flu file, Doc talks about using Total Tonic with an echinacea formula manufactured by Organic Solutions. Where do I get this tincture? Guest guest
Dear Ilana, Yes, TT gets mellow with age. This formula is extremely digestible as the Apple Cider Vinegar acts as a catalyst. Guest guest
Oh yes, the potency gets better with age, however that rip-snorting, curl the hair in your nostrils effect, wears off after a week or two ;o) There's nothing like using a fresh made batch to clear out the sinuses LOL. Guest guest
Dear Ilana, Yes, this is the way it goes. Cutting up fresh organic onions releases volatile oils and vapors that act to detox the eyes and the tear ducts. If your eyes are still bleary after four hours, I might suggest you do it more often in order to finish clearing and cleaning out the entire area terminatedly. With your eyes in excellent condition, this bleary effect should not last for more than an half an hour. As far as ingesting them raw and fresh is concerned: This can be very beneficial because of the enzymes, and can be quite delicious in a salad or if used in a salsa. Personally, I love onion sandwiches, but that is my own taste buds and preferrence speaking, and not necessarily for everyone ;o) When you add apple cider vinegar to any herb, it very quickly ceases to be raw or fresh as there is a pickling action that takes place. The ACV will extract the biochemicals outa the herb while at the same time preserving them. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Good idea! Save the sweet onions like the Vidalia for the salads, but use the "Hot" white ones for your Total Tonic where the ACV will mellow it out over a few days. It's not that the TT doesn't get stronger as it "perks", it's just that the "rip-snorter" effect tends to mellow ;o) Love, Doc Ian "Doc" Shillington N.D.505-772-5889Dr.IanShillington - Ilana Grostern herbal remedies Friday, January 10, 2003 3:16 PM Re: [herbal remedies] Cold & Flu Season It helps immensely! There's no way in heck that I can do the raw onion thing as I feel it for hours afterwards burning my esophagus, but...are you talking about regular white onions here or sweeter ones like vidalia or red onions? Those I can do raw. I guess I should get that info first! Thanks Doc!ILANA xoxoDr. Ian Shillington wrote: Dear Ilana, Yes, this is the way it goes.
