Guest guest
Thought I would post a brief definition on what a UC birth is for everyone. I have used a term that is unfamilier to most and forgot in my original post to define what it was. Sorry about that. A UC birth is an unassisted birth. A birth at home (or where ever you wish to birth) with no medwife or medical persons attending. Usually just your partner and for us our children were there to witness the birth of their new sibling. It is a free birth where there is no one to tell you what to do and or how to do it. You take complete responsability for your birth and your baby, as it should be. You may ask " what about complications? " Well, most all complications happen or are created by the professional birth attendant. (doc, obgyn, or medwife) Complications are actually very rare and the ones that can happen are easily taken care of. (Remember that there is no guarantee that you will have a healthy baby, just because you birth in the hospital! The death rate is HIGHER there!) All you have to do is read and prepare. We are made to give birth and we trust in that fact. Birth is a normal natural process. It is not a disease, and does it need to be managed as such. It is society and the medical profession that has created the belief that we can't birth without them. It is their job and income at stake if we don't use their services! Why wouldn't they scare us into going with a medical birth then?! Okay, sorry for the longer post than I intended. Hope this helps to answer some questions. If you have any others, feel free to ask.
