Guest guest
I think that body cleansing and taking total nutrition would help a lot. I lost about 10 lb for 4 weeks. I was 152lb and I am 142 now, I am 5'8. It is very easy to be on the raw veggie diet when you take total nutrition. And of course start to exercise. Good luck Jasmina

Guest guest
Well, I am not sure of natural herbs that would help, but here is something to try. Keep track of how many calories you eat per day. Start a journal and keep track. Start cutting down week by week, you will eventually see the weight some off. Just to give you some hope----I lost 8 lbs by doing this and it only took me a month and I am 136 lbs, 5'10". This just goes to show you that you should drop the lbs. even quicker because you are a little heavier. Please do not take offense to that comment, I didnt know how else to put it! Hope this helps a little!! Steph Cowpokesinlaw <cowpokesinlaw wrote: I am a very obese person who wants to turn my life around. Guest guest
Do you consume food that contains Nutra Sweet, Diets Drinks, Etc.? it has been shown to slow down ones matabolism. Also if you can change your diet to REAl food, brown rice, Whole grains, Raw Honey, real maple syrup, moasses for sweetnes, etc., and stay a way from preservatives (they impede the bodies ability to obsorb the food) you will find you automatically lose weight. ...........Every thing on Earth has a purpose, every disease has an herb to cure it, and every person has a mission. Guest guest
Hello Jr! If you are new here, welcome! I am glad you are here- this is a wonderful list. Jr. please know my heart goes out to you in your pain. I do understand and relate to pain, and even though we have never met, I care about your pain, and your feelings. Please consider this in light of what I just said. You are overweight for a simple reason and it may be important for you to clearly define the cause of your problem. You are overweight because you have consumed more calories than your body can use. I used to want to blame my extra pounds on multiple issues- oh metabolism must not be up to par, my emotional needs arent being met right now so I am eating this candy bar to " feel " better, etc. I couldnt effectively come up with solutions until I totally acknowledged the cause of my weight - eating more calories than my body could burn off. Plain and simple, I was overeating. It is as important to an overweight person to define they are overweight becuase of overeating as it is for an alcholic to define they are an alcholic because they drank too much. If an alcholic doesnt admit they overconsume alcohol then their treatment program is bound to fail. Once I admitted I weighed more than I should because I was overeating I was then free to more effectively address the issue. JJ, maybe you are already addressing these areas but I think it is crucial for you to look at carbohydrate metabolism. Are you eating because you " feel " hungry? Do you tend to feel weak? Are you often tired after eating? If I was in your position, I would cut out all carbs for breakfast. Maybe go to eating healthy nuts like almonds which are an good source of calcium and anticarcinogins. You can pick up unprocessed almonds that are particularly healthy at most health food stores. If you can start off your day with your glycemic levels strong you may be able to naturally carb your appetite. Ok, here is the tough one. Read on only if you are truly serious about weight loss. Stop this email immediately if you are not wanting to hear what might sound like a difficult thing. I would encourage you to give up ALL starchy carbs for one week and see how your body responds. That means all breads, pastas, pretzels, potatoes and likewise. Dont worry about B vitamines. If you are eating healthy vegetables- especially greens you will have the vitamine sources you need. It is likely you have an issue with blood sugar levels or gycemic indexes. It is extremely common for overweight people to have this and the more overweight a person is the more common the problem is. You can have totally normal blood sugar tests however, still have issues with glycemic indexes. Impairments in blood sugar indexes wreck havoc with our weight. What it means is when carbohydrates (Especially the starchy ones like breads, pastas, etc) are consumed blood sugar quickly rises and quickly falls. That leads us to feel more hunger and we are highly prone to eat more. Do not worry about complex carbs (especially the greens, other vegetables) their digestion is different and does not produce the same effects on glycemia levels as does the starchy ones. Complex carbs will also load you up on good vitamines and other things that will help you metabolize and break down extra weight. So, if you give it minimun a week- but best yet give it a month- off all starchy carbs you may find interesting results! It may be tough but you can do it! I also recommend a membership with Weight Watchers. There are too many studies out there that show how much more effective it is to do weight loss with other people. Weight Watchers can be a good help of support. I have suggestions for supplements. They are secondary to everything said here. Even more important than consumining something more is to consume something less. Consuming less may be highly related to keeping your carbs leveled. Obviously too, exercise is important to build muscle mass and increase metabolism. The best weight loss plan will incorporate all those things- glycemic levels, social factors, exercise, strong intake of healthy foods- especially greens. Finally, I can recommend supplements but the other issues are so much more important. First and foremost in this area I recommend a high quality fresh green tea- usually the best is available at local oriental supply stores. On a high quality green tea (I drink matcha which is QUITE potent) I get an immediate zap of my appetitite. It also has numberous other health benefits. If you have carbohydrate issues you will likely benefit from Chromium Picolate. if your protien intake tends to be low increase it and possibly add a good L- Carnitine supplement (L-Carnitine is an amino acid that is heavily involved in breaking down fat to usable energy- but..... in order for fat to be broken down less calories have to be consumed! L- Carnitine helps break fat easier when this process is underway but you cant break down fat unless fat is needed by the body so no fat zapping pill works without decreasing intake!!!!) Well this is long. I hope I wasnt offensive. I care and will pray for you. I think your obvious desire to turn things around is most commendable and will carry you far- stay with it and keep us posted. Guest guest
I am trying to gain weight...I have found astralagus really keeps weight off, either it does something to the fat or else keeps me from being hungry. Either way others have told me the same thing, they don't eat as much when taking astralagus. I take two in the morning. I am trying to gain weight but I like astralagus for immunity. Also I don't eat at night due to necessity. Guest guest
Good for you, to make the decision to turn your life around. You'll do it, too! No offense intended, but if a person has only ever had to lose 8 or 20 pounds, they won't have a clue how to get where you want to go ... I'll share what worked for me - in the last year I've lost over 100 pounds (I'm 5'3 " , was 217 now am about 100 lbs and stabilized). Also, I am no longer taking any prescription meds, most people who know me say I look 20 years younger (I'm 49, used to look about 60!) and I finally can pick up stuff I drop on the floor :-) I've been fat for the last 20 years. I used to be " height/weight proportionate " (the dating code for " not fat " - I learned that last year when I started dating again...) but things got out of control, as life went on and on and on. I ended up at my top weight of 217 in AUgust 2001. Like you, I finally had enough and decided to change my life. So I did. Believe me, it wasn't easy - in fact, it was as tough as quitting smoking 10 years ago. But not impossible. I handle stress much more easily now, I can do fun activities (I learned to play tennis, which I LOVE!), can roller skate, walk with my sweetheart and keep up with his long legs, and most of all, I feel " normal " . I don't feel like I stand out because of my size, I don't think people look at me and judge me when I order pizza now, and I just feel like a regular person. I hope you can find that pleasure too, along with all the health benefits you'll gain in your journey. I've kept food journals, counted calories, ate restrictive diets, tried all the fad diets, and I've lost tons of weight. And put it all back on. None of those things fit me. So I designed my own " program " for living. OK, long intro but here's what I did ... use what you can, discard the rest. Good luck, and remember - you really can do this. You're not alone, either. And, of course, make sure you consult a health professional so you do what's appropriate for you, not for me. First, I wanted to clean out my insides of the years of junk that was accumulated there. So I started taking an herbal tea that contains Senna bark. I took it 3 or 4 times a day. I know, the directions say different, but this is MY program, not theirs :-) I still take it often, especially on a day that I eat out instead of at home. Also, I booked several colon hydrotherapy sessions (about 10 in all, over a couple of months.) This really helps get some of the " cement " out of your colon, making your body much more efficient at processing food. For awhile, I did daily enemas too, to clean out all the junk as best I could. I started doing a regular liver cleanse program, about 1 time per month. There are many good ones to choose from, I follow the one outlined in Dr.Hulda Clark's book " Cure for All Diseases " . Foodwise, I decided that for awhile, I could let go of eating all fast food, all junk food. I never told myself I couldn't have something ever again, just for now I was choosing to not eat these things. And sometimes I had those things anyway, just not every day. I gave myself some room to be flexible. Every day I drank about 12 ounces of wheatgrass juice mixed with apple or vegetable juice, instead of eating a meal. I started growing my own wheatgrass and got a juicer to make everything fresh. Total, I was probably drinking about 2-3 quarts of juice daily. I had the luxury of not having to work during that time, so the frequent trips to the restroom were not a problem :-) The wheatgrass juice stabilized my thyroid - so I quit taking the meds for that. I quit taking the anti-depressants, the pain-killers and any other meds after about 4 months of this program. It's been a year and I still feel great. And my thyroid tests are in the right range. Now, I've settled into eating small amounts (my sweetheart and I eat out often and we order 1 entree to share), I don't eat fast food most of the time, I gave up meat about 90%, and I eat more fruits and vegetables now than ever in my life. I still drink wheatgrass juice at least 1 time per day. For other health issues, I use a tea and a tincture with valerian root, black and blue cohosh, and an assortment of other herbs and I know they help with mood/hormones/etc. which in turn help to keep me from over-stressing and therefore overeating. I still have trouble sometimes with wanting to eat everything in sight, but it passes. I never tell myself that I can't have something. If I really want ice cream, I have some - but I make sure it is my very favorite, not just the house-brand, poor quality cheap stuff. And yes, I do have pizza and beer once in awhile. But I have 1 slice, 1 beer - not the whole pizza and a pitcher. My system doesn't have space for more. I hope this helps you. sorry for the length, I just had a lot to say :-) Bless you on your journey, you can do this! CheriB
Guest guest
This is wonderful advice. I forgot to mention that I gave up sodas and most processed foods (I did this over time, not in a day. I hate feeling deprived!!) And my system is humming along now, full of whole and raw foods that it likes instead of trying to process preservatives, additives and who knows what else?
