Guest guest
Hi, I am new here. I need to post an intro yet, but I have a question that I really need some help with first. (I will get back with my intro:). My dh fell fromt he top of a flatbed semi trailer last January and broke his hip and thigh bone in his right leg. (He has taken falls like this before and had no problems.) Anyway, after four months he wasn't healing, so they did surgery again to do a bone graft to stimulate the bone to grow. They told us that these kinds of breaks don't heal well in the beginning. NOW, after a CT scan yesterday, they tell us that only part of the break is healing and they are going to have to do yet another surgery! Now to put in a steal rod. What I am looking for is what we can do to stimulate the bone to grow better. He is taking calcium (and a multi vit. just in case it will help). He has done acupuncture and even electronic therepy via our family chiropractor. He used some different herbal things earlier, but when they didn't seem to help, he stopped using them. It has been so long, that I don't even remember everything we have tried! Can anyone help us with some information on what we can do to get these bones to grow and heal? If you can just point us in the right direction it would be great. (I did check the archives, but found nothing on " bones " .) Thanks, Amanda

Guest guest
Dear Amanda, There is a homeopathic remedy for knitting bones: Symphtum. There is a caution with this remedy: to make sure the bone is set right before using this remedy as it knits bone very quickly! Thanks! I will be looking into all of the suggestions asap. We are going to hold off the mds and surgery as we see what we can manage first. (I am sure this will thrill the mds! LOL!!!) Then they will have to prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that surgery is needed. We are using poltices of comfry to start, as it is the only thing I have on hand for this type of injury. Time top stock up the herbal jars again! Amanda
Guest guest
Comfrey---- knitbone ---- is Symphytum officinale... the very same thing. but will have a different effect when used in the 30th potency as opposed to the herbal poltice. The mother tincture is designated by the symbol Q potency. By the way no harm in continuing the use of the poltice while the higher potency hpomepathic is being given. Also do not overlook the use of tumeric as a grad bone mender. There is a segment of homeopathic school that prefers starting with the mother tincture most of the time. Bulk of the homeopathic materia medica is from herbal remedies. And it is a good way to discover the benefits of an herb.. that may not be known in the herbal lore.
