Guest guest
When your sinuses are driving you crazy, this tea is a godsend! It's a gentle tonic and anti-inflammatory to the nasal passages. Get Rid of the Drip Tea -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 parts elder flowers 1 part ephedra leaves (see caution in directions) 1 part goldenrod leaves 1 part nettle leaves Combine all herbs in a pot, and cover with boiling water. Stir well, cover, and steep 15 to 20 minutes. CAUTION: There are several kinds of ephedra available. The Chinese ephedra (Ephedra sinica), known as ma huang contains alkaloids that are similar to adrenaline and can stimulate your heart rate and blood pressure. Use the western ephedra (E. viridis), not ma huang, for this recipe. Drink 2 cups per day about 3 to 4 weeks before allergy season begins its torture treatment. This allows the formula time to start working in advance of the actual onslaught of pollens and other springtime allergens.
