Guest guest
Good day! I started taking MSM 1 week ago and had some questions. I take a cardiotonic which contains: Hawthorn flowers/leaves Motherwort Bugleweed Gingko leaf Passion flower American ginseng Rosemary This I have been taking for 2 weeks as I went off the beta-blockers docs had me on and wanted to keep things even. I have MVP, but have not had any palpations since starting the tonic. Anyhoo, now that I have added the MSM, I feel really dehydrated and stiff. Lots of back pain. I do medical transcription so I do sit alot at work. Was wondering if anything mixed with the MSM would cause this dry feeling, or maybe some of the other herbs are diuretics as well? I really noticed it this week and my eyes are about to roll out of the sockets they are so dry. Thanks in advance. Carlin
Guest guest
Carlin, I can't imagine it is the MSM. if you go back in the files, Message 24772 , there is detailed info (lenghthy) on MSM... unless it is one of the herbs causing it with the msm... MSM is an organic sulfur... i've never experience dryness but i guess it could cause some. Hopefully someone on this list can answer better. Guest guest
Hi Carlin, Hawthorn and rosemary have diuretic properties. Ginkgo and motherwort have astringent properties. American ginseng is very moistening. MVP'ers have to watch their fluid intake as they tend to be dehydrated already. So it is the herbs causing the dryness not the MSM to my knowledge. Hope this helps. Stopped taking both until things readjust. Going to see an herbalist next Wed. Woo hoo! Carlin
