Guest guest
Hi Doc, I have chronic sinus drainage all my life aggravated by dairy, so my throat is often a little sensitive. In the last year or two I have occasionally put a gram or so of Cayenne powder into a glass of water and drank it slowly, it would burn my throat a little but not so much as to be painful, not like raw garlic burns my tongue when chewed. The Cayenne does not seem to burn my esophagus! In the last few months I have had heartburn occasional; severe and have been dx with GER, and have some purple pills which control it. Which I use only sometimes. And I am changing my eating habits to overcome the GER, also I had my Gall bladder out several years ago and the eating habits, mainly small meals and none close to bedtime are about the same Now the interesting thing is the cayenne does not seem to bother me. Also I read that uncooked cayenne is better than cooked cayenne. Any comments? Lorenzo > > Re: Cayenne spicy? It can irritate it (heartburn), but over a period of time, it will also repair a weak stomach lining. Love, Doc --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Guest guest
Dear Lorenzo, Even though Cayenne has a "burning" sensation to it, there is no true burn or tissue damage. Garlic on the other hand is acidic and will give a true burn. Cayenne may make you a little uncomfortable, but will never damage. Keep up the good work.
