Guest guest
Hi everyone, Wow, this list is really running! Haven't been on in a while, but I have a problem on my hands: my boyfriend has had teeth and gum problems in the past, he went to the dentist a few months ago and had his two front teeth capped (they were in severe decay), I got him into mouthwashing with a myrrh and golden seal mouth tonic, which really helped his gums a lot. However, recently he has been experiencing bursts of pain, in increments of about 10-20 minutes, lasting for 3-4 minutes each, sometimes longer, on the left side of his mouth, beginning from the top left front tooth, and extending throughout his his gums, top and bottom, on the left side. I gave him a mouthwash of echinacea, slippery elm, and vervain last night (per a recipe of herbal remedies I found on the net), which helped some, and he has been using clove oil as a topical on the areas that pain him the most. He probably won't get in to see the dentist for another two weeks or more, is there anything else I can do for him? I've been able to get him away from eating processed and sugary foods, as well as the soda and candy (which is where the decay in his teeth stemmed from, I imagine). He can't eat anything, even so much as soup. At night, when he lies down, his teeth begin to ache, when he sits up, the pain goes away. Any comments or ideas, formulas, anything? Thanks and have a beautiful weekend, all. Clarise Eitner
Guest guest
Sounds like abcess to me Clarise. When he lies down use more pillows under his head and shoulders so that his head is higher than his heart. It is also a possibility that the infection is coming from his sinuses down into his teeth. I'd definitely put him on Total Tonic and echinacea right away. The mouth rinses are great, except they can't reach beyond topical infection, and this kind of infection goes deep.
