an unexplained pain

I have an unexplained pain. It is just under my left breast, flat against

the breast bone. It is only

present when I cough, sneeze, press it or move a certain way. It is not

unbearable, but is sharp, but not bad. I noticed it after I came down with

strep throat. The soreness went away in my throat around Tuesday, and this

is around the time I noticed the soreness in my chest. At times I can feel

it in my back also, like a needle is pushed through that side of my body.

It is annoying and I am concerned because I don't want it to progress in to

something bad.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what it might be, or what might be

done about it?

It might be something called a "plethora" (pronounced, ple-thra). It is caused when the lungs become dehydrated and start rubbing up against the surrounding tissue. Sometimes rehydrating yourself can help. Other than that I don't know how to help it but perhaps knowing what is might be will point you in the right direction.

Tamika, 2 possibilities spring to my mind. Pleurisy, which is inflammation of the lung tissues. Is it a sharp pain? Can you take a deep breath without getting a jab from it? The other, and more probable cause would be a pulled muscle or strain around the soft cartilage where your ribs attach to the sternum. Doc's Total Tonic and Echinacea would probably take care of the pleurisy. If it is a strain, do hot and cold compresses alternately, BF & C and Deep Tissue Repair Oil. Just my thoughts, hope it helps.

Hi T, don't think it is pleurisy then. Probably pulled something coughing when you were sick. Happens to a lot of people. Try alternating warm and cool compresses, it should speed healing and relieve some of the pain and spasms that are there.

Janet, you asked, "Can you take a deep breath without gettinga jab from it?"

when I take a deep breath it is there, but not bad.
