Guest guest
There are many different herbs called gentian. What Did you take the herb for? This would help to answer your question. It was probably Gentian (Gentiana lutea) a western herb that you drank. Long dan cao is a very strong cold chinese herb to clear damp heat especially in the intestines. Michael Gentian (Gentiana lutea) increases the appetite, stimulates digestive juices, decreases intestinal inflammation, treats indigestion, heartburn, liver and spleendisorders, promotes menstruation, strengthens and builds the body, and is helpful for gout and arthritis. http://www.healthwell.com/healthnotes/Herb/Gentian.cfm long dan cao Pharmaceutical name: Radix Gentianae longdancao latin: Gentiana scabra Bge, G. trflom Pall., G. manshurica Kitag., or G. regescents Fransh.
