Guest guest
Hi Elise, From herbalist Susan S. Weed's best-selling book, Menopausal Years the Wise Woman Way: To relieve congestion and tenderness in the breasts:20-30 drops of the tincture of cleavers, another common weed, works wonders. This plant, also called "goose grass" was used as a black tea substitute by the colonists. The dose may be repeated every hour or up to 6 times a day.Women who get a lot of calcium and magnesium from their diet (leafy greens, yogurt, and many herbs are rich in these minerals) have less breast tenderness. Increase the minerals in your diet with a cup or more of red clover/mint infusion daily.Large cabbage leaves, steamed whole until soft, and applied as warm as tolerable, can be used as a soothing compress on breasts which are sore and swollen. This is kinda embarrassing but I have had a total hystorectomy many many moons ago and take natural supplements and herbal cream. Now onto my question, I get about once a month swollen painful breasts. I have searched high and low through my books, online resources and cant find anything for this situation. Its pretty painful and would like to not have this. I take hops/passionflower tincture I make and that helps a bit but I want to prevent it from happening. What do you you suggest? Any ideas. I already take Dong Quai, Damiana, and the natural progestrone cream. So just curious. Thanks bunches. Guest guest
In chinese medicine, herbs are never taken individually, but always in a balanced formula. Having said that, one of the chinese herbs used for many breast problems, including tenderness, is Pu gong ying, which is chinese dandelion. So, you might try taking dandelion. Also, when there is breast tenderness, you need to stop taking Dong Quai for a few days. I am working on cutting down to the point where I don't drink it at all. I know its better for me and I know about the mammogram....Ouch.... I used to have to have them every 3 months for a while there then I don't know what happened but with all the combinations of herbs, vitamins and minerals I was taking all the cysts disappeared. I just wish I knew which one lol. But now I only have to have it once a year. Woo Hoo. Guest guest
Hi Elise! Have you tried something like corn coffee? I get it as instant - it takes a little getting used to, but it is a very good substitute. Best of all - no caffine! Namasté, Chris "All television is educational television. Guest guest
I am probably old enough now to have a booby-squishing-gram done LOL! OWEEE!! Somehow I don't think it can be a good thing to do that to such a sensitive area. Never hear any men volunteering to have their most sensitive parts squished in a machine ROTFL!
