Hi Karen,

Here is a cayenne poultice recipe for you. You can use this anywhere on your back, neck lumbar region. Change your coffee to a citrus juice of fresh vegetable juice. Coffee is definitely not good for arthritis/rheumatoid conditions. Fresh vegetable juices and fruit juices will help to alkalinize your system. Coffee acidifies your system. Start taking cayenne internally (1/8 teaspoon to start or more if you can handle it and slowly work your self up to larger amounts). Use the hottest you can fine. It will only do your body good. You will get used to the burning after a short time and it won't bother you. Take it anyway you can, in juice, straight. The more the better. It is a wonderfully good food for the whole body, especially the circulatory system. Also alternate hot and cold packs on your aching back and neck. HOt shower cold shower. hot bath cold bath. Which ever, as many times a day as you need to. This will help you manage the pain and not have to take drugs. Email Doc at this address Dr.IanShillington and ask him about ordering cleanses. Now here is a very painful subject for you: do you exercise at all? I have found with my cervical and lumbar pain (due to auto accidents and fused vertebrae) that stretching, yes stretching has done me more good in helping to manage the pain by keeping everything loose. I don't want arthritis nor rheumatism setting in. I refuse to allow that. I have spent three painful years of forcing myself to stretch my back and neck. I now have almost no pain on a daily basis and am much more limber to boot. Hope this helps ya.

Good luck and cut down on the meat some or altogether. It is acid forming in the system.

Backache Remedy:Here it is - it's simple and you probably have the ingredients in your kitchen. Take 1 teaspoonful of Cayenne red pepper and 1 teaspoonful of dried mustard powder and mix in a small bowl with about 2 Tablespoonfuls of hot water, to make a watery paste. Spread this paste on a washcloth, and fold the cloth over so the paste is inside. Dribble some hot water on the washcloth so the fumes (yes!) come up through the washcloth. Slap this on your achy back and massage. You should feel the heat from the pepper and mustard ease into the achy muscles. (I think the heat is what heals - seems to bring lots of blood to the area, helping the massage to go real deep.) That's it. Now be careful not to get the pepper/mustard paste on your skin directly; it will cause an abrasion and scabbing.

Thanks to all those that replied. For Don, my diet is fairly balanced but I do eat meat. I pretty much avoid all processed foods, I do drink a cup of coffee in the morning to get my msm down. I don't eat enough whole grains. How much cayenne do you take. I was in so much pain I just ran to Walmart and grabbed a bottle, I know this is not the optimum product but it was fast. Can I make a poultice out of the grocery store cayenne? I will do the cleanses but I need to order something ready made, now is not the time for me to be experimenting with trying to make something and Doc has never given me the address of where to order cleanses, very busy probably. Also whoever said they were told to get steroid shots for bursitis, I got them for my arthritis. It's in c3-c7 of cervical vertebrae with bone spurs and one on nerve at c5. They don't last and they were dangerous for me to get and steroids are terrible for you. For one I know they destroy your kidneys. Pain managemen!t wants to give them every 6 months, mine have worn off obviously. Thanks for all the input. I will buy some kind of cleanse at health food store today.KarenPS Don, Besides cervical, I'm having bad lumbar pain now also but have never had it x rayed, but it feels the same as cervical so I'm sure it's the same thing.
