Hi Peggy,

Organic cold-pressed Olive oil - is oil that is made milling olives

to a paste under " cold conditions " then mixing the paste for 30-60

min. using steam or hot water jackets to raise the paste to body

temperature. (Heating the paste increases the yield, but degrades the

flavor, so heating beyond that point would degrade the flavor of the

oil.) A very good example is organic cold pressed extra virgin olive

oil, and if that were heated too much, it couldn't be

considered " extra virgin " , which is why they use all those odd

names. That is organic cold-pressed O.O.

Now, for the not so natural way of doing thiings - Company made

olive oil goes through basically the same three steps as above, but

has a few extra steps added on. It goes through a special processing

which is composed of refining the olive oil with steam or alkali,

then bleaching it with diatomaceous earth or synthetic silicas, and

finally deodorizing the oil using actuated carbon. So that's what it

is, and there's the difference :-)
