Guest guest
Hi, May not be what you mean but I did vaguely hear there is a Bach Flower Chemo Recovery remedy around. Do you (or anyone) know whether it's to be used during or after the course of chemo? This *is* the kind of thing I was looking for, Persian. Thanks. Guest guest
Thank you to everyone who's suggested Essiac, and Don, thanks for providing the instructions. The Wild Oats here sells the Essiac formula pre-assembled, so that's another possibility. I had no idea it was helpful against chemo as well as against cancer. Guest guest
Meg, Try this: Essiac Tea: 6-1/2 parts Cut Burdock Root 2 parts Sheep Sorrel Herb Powdered1/8 part Rhubarb Root (Turkey) Powdered1 part Slippery Elm Bark Powdered Preparation: Rinse clean large pot & lid with 3% food grade hydrogen peroxide* to sterilize. Pour the 2 gallons of distilled water into sterilized pot. Bring water to a rolling boil with lid on (approximately 30 minutes). Stir in 1 cup Essiac Tea herbs. Replace lid and continue to boil for 10 more minutes. Turn off stove. Scrape down sides of pot & stir with sterilized spatula or spoon. Replace lid & let pot remain closed for 12 hours. Turn stove to full heat for 20 minutes. While Essiac Tea is heating, rinse the bottles, lids, funnel, strainer & other pot or bowl with 3% hydrogen peroxide. After 20 minutes heating time expires, turn off stove & strain liquid into another pot. Use funnel to pour hot liquid into amber bottles immediately, taking care to tighten caps. Allow bottles to cool and tighten caps again. Refrigerate in light-proof bottles. 1 cup herb mix makes approximately 1.5 gallons. Then use this along with the Essiac after the chemo: System Cleanse Tea: helps cleanse the colon and liver and strengthens the liver by cleaning out old wastes. 1 part/cut Buckthorn Bark1 part/cut Burdock Root1 part/cut Chaparral 1 part/cut Licorice Root1 part/cut Red Clover Blossoms1 part/cut Dandelion Root1 part/cut Barberry Root1 part/cut Cascara Sagrada Bark Preparation: Add one cup of formula to two quarts of distilled water, bring to a light simmer. Turn stove down and continue to simmer for 20 minutes. Strain wet herb and return it to the same pan. Add two more quarts distilled water. Repeat the process again. Discard used herb after you are finished. Refrigerate tea. Use only stainless steel or glass pot. DO NOT USE ALUMINUM! Suggested use: Take ½ to 1 cup of prepared System Cleanse Tea 2-3 times a day for 6 weeks. Take a 2-week break and repeat. Then take another 2-week break and repeat again. The body must be able to eliminate unhealthy cells and dead matter from the body. You should have a bowel movement at least 2-3 times a day. If you are not, increase the amount of times you take the System Cleanse Tea. You also do not want to induce diarrhea. If so, decrease the amount of each dose and/or how often you take it. CAUTION: Using System Cleanse Tea may make you weak if your body is already fragile and/or you have had chemotherapy treatments. System Cleanse Tea has powerful herbs that draw chemicals and poisons from your tissues in order to eliminate them. Sometimes it is too much for a frail body to take all at once. Use it wisely. Ease off, then try again. Don - Dragonhealer herbal remedies Thursday, September 19, 2002 2:58 AM Re: [herbal remedies] chemo Meg, try looking up info on Essiac tea. I know a little boy who was dying of the effects of chemo faster than his cancer could ever kill him (don't ask me about chemo either). Essiac tea - he is fine now. The oncologist started recommending it as a supplement to chemo (he'll probably be banned from practicing modern medicine for that). Anyway, I am sure you will get lots of good responses on this. Guest guest
Sadly enough, marijuana has turned out to be one of the best alternatives. It's one of the few things that i think it is good for. All of its other uses are eclipsed by its unacceptable side effects. Guest guest
Hi, I have breast cancer and I am pretty sure it has spread to my lungs. There is also a lump in my foot which I am sure is a tumor, and showed up about 1 week after very rought mamograms. I am doing budwig for 3 weeks. If this crap wasnt spreading I wouldnt be so worried, but I dont know if budwig will kick in soon enough as most people say it takes at least 2 to 3 months to effect tumors. I havent been back to the doctor in 6 weeks since diagnosis. I'm wondering what you people would do about going back, having surgery, and chemo, etc. Thanks, Robyn
