About a months or so ago, I asked for help resolving my 4-year-old son Jamie's sleeping problems.

Doc Ian Shillington, Naturopath, advised I give Jamie his Brain Tonic Formula. I tried, but Jamie wouldn't take it; due to the cayenne content the tonic was quite sharp tasting, and as Jamie's food is usually quite bland, the tonic was a very obvious addition.

So then Doc suggested his Lemon Egg recipe - a natural calcium/magnesium remedy for those people who cannot easily absorb these items otherwise. I made it last week, and Jamie was on it for about 4 days with no discernable result. I called Doc to discuss it with him, and he said it usually works right away, but not always. We then discussed Jamie's diet, and again Doc told me that it was Jamie's virtual exclusive diet of pasta that was the problem, and that I would just have to toughen up and NOT give him anymore pasta. So, I toughened up :-). I took Jamie off the pasta, and spent the last 4 days trying different foods/recipes to entice Jamie to eat something else. We finally succeeded last night with an Indian recipe :-)

Anyway, slowly over the last 4 days things have been improving! The first thing I noticed was that Jamie and I had had NO fights at all!! Jamie was very short tempered lately, and lots of things would upset him, resulting in him deliberately trying to hurt me (and usually succeeding). There's been NONE of that since stopping the pasta! Jamie's totally calmed down (not inactive, but calmer tempered). I noticed this morning that his sleeping time has been gradually lengthening! He wasn't sleeping enough since we moved him out of the cotbed into a bed about 2 months ago.

So all in all much improved! There is a definite time-relation between all these improvements and the stopping of the pasta. My opinion is that the pasta was stopping the remedies for fully working, and now they are getting a chance to do their job, and seem to be doing it beautifully! The atmosphere at home is a lot more relaxed and happy now :-)

So thank you Doc!! And thank you to all others who have been advising me :-)

Dear Lisa,

Thank you so much for the success story and the update on Jamie. Your timing is perfect on account of my finishing and publishing my article on Enzyme Inhibitors right after I finish the one I'm writing on ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) and ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). You and the rest of the list should see both of these sometime today. ;o)

Much love,

Doc
