Guest guest
Hi all, In my quest for a no GM diet I decided to start contacting some of the manufactures of different foods. This one makes tomato products. Check out his signiture. Is nothing a small company any more? Becky >Dear Ms. Wattenbach: Thank you for your recent inquiry. Muir Glen is a grower, buyer, processor and marketer of organically grown foods. Genetically engineered or genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are not compatible with the principles of organic agriculture and food production. The intentional use of GMOs is prohibited in certified organic food. Organic food provides consumers with a clear alternative to conventionally produced foods that may contain or be comprised of GMOs. Organic food production requires careful control of the total production system from the seed to the consumer---including auditing, inspection and thorough record keeping. This comprehensive management system has served us very well in assuring that our organic foods are grown, harvested, and processed free of pesticides and other agricultural chemicals. We use this same process management program to assure that our organic foods are not commingled with GMOs. We appreciate your continued support of organic foods so that we can contribute to the growing social and economic momentum in providing a choice in the market regarding foods without GMO ingredients. You can help us to assure the continued availability of high quality organic foods for future generations. Guest guest
Is nothing sacred anymore? If your farm isn't part of the Con-Agra family you don't farm much longer. If your little mom and pop post toasties business isn't part of Mega-Foods-Conglomo then your not in business very long. If they have their way, the little apothecary shop on the corner run by Jack and Jill Herbalist won't be around either if they don't belong to One World Pharmaceuticals. Guest guest
I just reread this when you wrote back and realized that although he said organic products are " not comatible " with GM, he does not say that they don't use them. He just implies it. Intresting. > " Donald Eitner " <eitner.d >herbal remedies ><herbal remedies > >Re: [herbal remedies] GM foods- Muir Glen >Fri, 6 Sep 2002 06:23:14 -0700 > >Is nothing sacred anymore?
