Guest guest
Rebecca, I believe one thing you need to do is cleanse your blood...burdock root is a blood cleanser. Guest guest
Hi again Rebecca, Also what kind of diet do you subsist on? Taking any medication for anything? Also, as to soaps, detergents and cosmetics, depending on types used some of the chemicals that these are made with can accumulate in your adipose tissues and build up over time. I am not saying this is the cause or anything but that they can and will accumulate, which could lead to health problems. Guest guest
Rosacea is caused by the dilation of tiny microvessels called arterioles, capillaries, and venules, which occurs close to the surface of the skin. This causes the skin to break out with blotchy red areas called papules. A papule is a red solid elevated inflammatory skin lesion without pus (unless the papule is severe). These papules have three classifications; minor, moderate and severe. A minor rosacea papule is the size of a small measles lesion. A moderate rosacea papule is the size of a pencil eraser. A severe papule is the size of a coin and also contains pustules (pus-filled inflammatory bumps). I've heard of the chinese treating it with good results (used to have a friend who had it and went to some "dr" in the colorado area i believe) ((we aren't friends anymore)...anyway, I looked up on a site I've used before with success on other things and this is what it says... I'm wondering if anyone has experience with these herbs. For Rosacea sufferers the redness or blush can be made worse by the following stimuli, heat, exercise, stress, alcohol consumption, spicy foods, coffee, tea and chocolate. All these stimuli can aggravate this irritating the condition caused by internal heat. Stress and other emotions can certainly cause flare-ups. In Traditional intense emotions can lead to the uneven circulation of Qi and blood, this lack of flow leads to accumulation of heat. Techniques such as meditation and breathing exercises, cutting out caffeine, eating healthy food regularly and getting plenty of sleep will all help to reduce stress. Try to eliminate hot spices from your diet, which are common triggers and reduce hot drinks especially those contain caffeine. Different foods may set off reactions in individuals so be aware of any foods consumed, which seem to correspond to a worsening of the condition. Herbal Teas and Decoctions that help Rosacea Honeysuckle flower, white mulberry leaf, dandelion leaf, burdock root and loquat leaf can all be taken regularly to help cool and cleanse the skin. I know burdock helps the blood and should help you ... Dandelion is another that ought to help with the toxins. An infusion is made in the same way as one would make strong tea. The basic recipe for making an infusion is a pint of boiling water to two tablespoons of leaves or flowers. Pour the boiling water over the herbs in a teapot and let it steep for 10-15 minutes, when ready strain. To make it stronger simply increase the amount of herbs and leave it to steep longer. For the roots and barks make a decoction using the above method but simmering the root for 30 minutes in a saucepan instead of steeping. Again, I know my x-friend was taking a tea with herbs, and hers improved...whether this was the tea or not I cannot for sure say but it was from a chinese dr. Guest guest
Hi Rebecca, I would have to agree with Suzi. If what you have is truly Rosacea then you are either going to have to live with it or cut out the spicy foods. Tough decision I know. I too, am a lover of spicy foods. The spicier it is the better I love it. But I have a cast Iron stomach, or so I have been told by everyone who knows what I eat. ) Cutting out the spicy foods and doing a body cleanse and fast should assist you quite a bit for rosacea. A good body cleanse does wonders anyway for anybody. No matter whether they are having problems or not. Guest guest
Hi- Thanks for all of the replies, Don and Suzi! I'll try to reply to the questions all at once- this may end up a long reply, but bear with me! -Are you experiencing any other health issues at all? Any other types of symptoms out of the ordinary? Have you in the past when you have had this 'red rash'? I know that no one wants to hear this but have you seen a doctor about this yet? Nope, no other health issues, and no other unusual symptoms- in general I'm in pretty good health. Like I said, I've always had a bit of red in my cheeks- it just seems to be getting worse with time. I have asked doctors about it in the past, especially knowing my mother has rosacea- but have gotten no real response. It's been a while since I did ask, but in the past the response was of the type of " there's nothing you can really do except stay out of the sun. " -Rebecca, I believe one thing you need to do is cleanse your blood...burdock root is a blood cleanser. Garlic would probably help too.. I'm talking long term here... A blood cleanse does sound like a good idea- I've never tried burdock root before, or a blood cleanse for that matter. I've gone on fasts before, but it's been about six months since I did my last one. As for garlic, that is a general staple in my diet already! -Also what kind of diet do you subsist on? Taking any medication for anything? Also, as to soaps, detergents and cosmetics, depending on types used some of the chemicals that these are made with can accumulate in your adipose tissues and build up over time. I am not saying this is the cause or anything but that they can and will accumulate, which could lead to health problems. What kind of diet? Well I try to eat well, but I do eat meat. I try to stay away from excessive fats and processed foods- if that helps give you an idea. The only medication I'm on is a standard birth control pill. As for the soaps comment- I guess I'll research that possibility. I've always used gentle soaps, and tried to stay away from as many extra chemicals as possible- but it's true that that could be a factor. Rosacea is caused by the dilation of tiny microvessels..<snip> Wow! That's a lot of great information. I'd say that I have the redness, and slight bumps that are accompanied by dry skin- but there isn't any pus in them. As for the list of stimuli, I would guess that stress, coffee and spicy foods may be the direction I need to look in. Stress isn't a huge problem- but at this point I'm thinking that I'll have to cut out coffee and spicy foods for a while. I don't drink a Lot of coffee, and spicy food isn't the only thing I eat- but that sounds like the best option to try at this point. I'm sure it couldn't hurt, LOL. I'll definitely look into the list of Herbal Teas and Decoctions as well! Thanks for that- I especially appreciate the instructions. thanks much! ~Rebecca _______________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com

Guest guest
Hi Rebecca, Not only Burdock root but also add in some Red Clover and Yellow Dock as well, equal parts made into a decoction and apply externally as well as drinking it. If you make a decoction only take 2 - 6 Tablespoons 3 to 4 times a day. These herbs are all excellent alteratives or blood cleansers. You can even add in some Dandelion root to help cleanse the liver while you are at it. Hope our ideas give you some direction or help you in some small way.
