Guest guest
One thing to try is avoiding heavy meals in the evenings (a very difficult thing on some people's work schedules). Fatty foods in particular could cause this. So for late night snacks, use fruits instead. I used to have a similar problem, and was also overweight. I stopped eating heavy evening meals -- basically try not to eat dinner after 8:00 pm. This problem stopped, and i lost a lot of weight. Now if i eat too much in the evening i just get a weird nightmare around midnight. So apparently this problem was caused by a cumulative situation. Guest guest
Sounds like GERD, which is the acid from the stomach backing up into the esophagus. Try elevating the head of your bed, gravity will help hold it down and he will sleep better. Catnip and peppermint tea helps my husband with this a lot. I haven't tried it yet, but meadowsweet is supposed to lower acid production in the stomach. Hope that helps a little. Janet - e g herbal remedies Monday, September 02, 2002 4:34 PM [herbal remedies] Heard of this before? My husband has a throat problem that I've been concerned about for some time. He has been unable to find anything to help this uncomfortable problem and usually waits it out, so I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on an herbal remedy. It starts off with a pressure in his stomach that moves up to his throat(near his adam's apple). He seems to think it's some sort of trapped wind. The pressure is very uncomfortable and is mainly in the throat. He usually cannot eat at all, & swallowing can nearly be impossible. The pressure becomes so uncomfortable that his mouth starts watering a lot, which of course he swallows, and usually causes him to be physically sick (usually happens when he is sleeping and wakes him up). We are unsure of what the cause is, but he thinks it's food related.I appreciate any and all advice!Jen_Communicate with others using Lycos Mail for FREE!http://mail.lycos.com Federal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1.
