Guest guest
The only way I know you can tell for sure is with the test the vet gives. A dose of IC#1 once a month during the mosquito season wouldn't hurt him at all and would be a good preventative. My Aussie was 50 lbs and 9 did the trick for him. I would think you could give up to 12 on a 70 lb'er with nary a problem, but if he really gets the runs, you could cut that back. Another trick is to put garlic cloves inside a small wrapping of hamburger, and that would also help. I've done both at the same time. Do you think IC#1 on a monthly basis is OK for a preventative during mosquito season(that's how they're transmitted-right?) How many would I give a 70 lb dog?Love,Ann My Aussie had them once and it was handled with a fairly large dose of IC#1 (9 caps a day) over a week's time. Gone for good ;o)Love,Doc
